Arizona's Water Needs

Communities around the state overwhelmingly recommend that that funding and support needs to be reestablished for the Department of Water Resources. Communities from Show Low to Sierra Vista and Surprise to Yuma also highlighted the need for education at all levels.

Thanks to Community Outreach Program sponsors SRPMIC, Arizona Lottery and Union Pacific, Arizona Town Hall has directly reached over 500 people statewide. Many more were reached through extensive media coverage. To see the statements from programs held to date, click here.

Participants in some communities are considering using community discussions from these programs as the basis for a submission for The New Arizona Prize. For more information about the Water Innovation Challenge, which will award a $250,000 prize to a collaborative team in an Arizona community, go here

What's Next?

The Fall 2016 Town Hall will be on the topic of Government Revenue.

In 2017, Arizona Town Hall will move to a new format with one topic a year. The topic will be Education with a likely focus on preK-12 funding.

Arizona Town Hall will partner with communities to hold a series of Community Town Halls around the state that will inform the statewide Town Hall scheduled for November of 2017.

Topics for 2018 will be presented and discussed at the June 10, 2016 Annual Meeting. Visit our website for more information about the Annual Meeting.
