Supporting families and educators with resources for quality early education is critical to Arizona's future according to participants at the 103rd Arizona Town Hall.

More than 170 Arizona leaders, businesspeople, educators, elected officials and students participated in the 3-day deep dive into the topic.

Just some of the recommendations from this Town Hall:
  • conduct outreach to families and caregivers about available programs and resources;
  • support the collaboration and alignment of the education continuum so that a united effort to support a quality start at life is realized;
  • restore funding for all day Kindergarten and child subsidies;
  • expand tax credits to include high quality early education support;
  • ensure that early childhood educators incorporate practices of engaged learning for critical early brain development.

The recommendations also include a final piece about the importance of individual actions by each and every Arizonan to impact this critical topic. All Arizonans are invited to become part of the continuum of teaching - through mentorships, coaching, working with a local school, and supporting caregivers and early education teachers.

Read the final report of recommendations now.  Additionally, printed copies will be mailed to community groups, lawmakers and other leaders. A series of Community Outreach Programs will be held across Arizona on these recommendations throughout the early months of 2014. These details and more can be found on the Arizona Town Hall website at www.aztownhall.org in the coming weeks and months.
