What's Happening in South County This Winter

From hitting the slopes at Yawgoo Valley, to enjoying the serenity of the ocean in winter to snuggling up to a warm fireplace - South County is a true Winter Wonderland. 


Several popular art and holiday shows take place over the winter in South County. They are great places to pick up something unique for a holiday gift or a special treat for yourself. Don't miss the 44th Annual Holiday Pottery and Art Sale through December 21st at Helme House in South Kingstown, the Charlestown Gallery and Annual Holiday Show through December 28 at Charlestown Gallery in Charlestown, and the Celebrate the Joy Holiday Art Show through January 4th at the Back Room Art Gallery in Westerly.

Why not ring in the new year in South County? The Ocean House promises an elegant evening with their Taste of Broadway New Year's Eve Gala while their sister property, The Weekapaug Inn is hosting a dinner dance. If you're looking to celebrate earlier, enjoy the New Year's Eve Annual Bonfire at Ninigret Park in Charlestown and bring the kids, too.

Did you get a Christmas proposal and would like to have your wedding in South County? Then be sure to register and attend our  8th Annual South County Bridal Show on January 4th. It takes place at The Towers in Narragansett and you can meet with the finest South County wedding vendors and have the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes - including a wedding gown!

What's New in South County

Tilted Barn Brewery Opens in Exeter

RI's newest officially licensed brewery and first farm brewery located in Exeter, opened it's doors to an overwhelming reception on November 22nd. Ocean State Hops, the farm that was producing hops for local breweries and beyond, is now be brewing their own beers. The first offerings, an IPA, a Pale Ale and a Pumpkin Jack went fast. They're currently brewing a few holiday porters and stouts. Visit South County and make a weekend out of exploring local breweries and distilleries.

Hank's Down South

Looking for authentic southern style BBQ in South County? Look no further - Hank's Down South right next to the fishing docks in Narragansett offers melt-in-your-mouth brisket, live music, a wide selection of whiskeys and bourbons and bacon-wrapped cinnamon buns.

Red Stripe: An American Bistro
This popular Providence"American-Style" brasserie just opened a second location in East Greenwich and it's already a local favorite. The menu features classic French bistro offerings such as steak frites, mussels frites and Croque Madame as well as American favorites such as bacon and cheddar meatloaf, burgers and pasta. 

Providence Coal Fired Pizza
Another Providence favorite comes to South County. Now open on Post Road in North Kingstown, Providence Coal Fired Pizza is the only place to get authentic coal-fired pizza - just like the old country.
