Things to Do on Rainy Days
South County Museum, Narragansett - Steve Wood
New England weather is famous for being inconsistent and no matter   how much we hope for perfect, sunny summer days, there will inevitably be a few rainy days. Here are some ideas of things to do when the weather is not suitable for the beach:

South County is rich in history and culture. Explore our local museums and historical landmarks that showcase everything from primitive art & culture to an old jail. The arts scene is alive and well in South County and the perfect place to spend a rainy day is looking at the work of contemporary artists on display in local galleries, followed by an evening at the theater. Bowling, cinema, the roller rink, the Biomes Marine Biology Center, indoor rock climbing and going 'round and 'round on one of the oldest carousels in the nation are just some ways to entertain the kids on a rainy day.
See our family fun listings here.

Another way to spend the time is to visit a local winery, brewery or distillery. Enjoy a tour of the facilities, tastings and more.

And don't forget to shop. There are many unique local boutiques and antique shops you can duck in and out of away from the rain.
