Federal:
Sequestration - Do we know how our programs will be impacted by enactment of the automatic federal cuts?
In communications with the California Department of Education and our federal partners, unfortunately the impact is still unclear.
According to CDE, "...the piece of th federal grant that may be impacted is he Discretionary post of the Child Care Development Fund. That is about 1/2 of the federal funding."

Rather they are being viewed from the perspective of the Medi-Cal expansion, and in the broader context of being threaded with other programs. For our field to be strategic in positioning itself in this broader discussion, we must all understand the parts. Kicking off the day, we have staff from the Public Policy Institute of California who will be sharing findings from two of their recently released reports focusing on Realignment of Social Services and Health Care. Following this presentation, we will have a focused and detailed informational on Medi-Cal Expansion, an Overview of the Affordable Care Act and the Vision of The California Health Benefit Exchange. For the afternoon, our expert panel will discuss issues that are on the horizon for our families and children.
