Of course we all try to plan our travel well in advance to get the best selection and prices but sometimes it is just not possible. At those times, when you are forced to purchase airline tickets or book hotels rooms at the last minute, there are websites and mobile apps that can help. Here are some of my favorite travel websites and mobile apps to help with any last minute purchase you might need to make this summer.

Skype Update and Ninite Updater
The Desktop version of Skype has been updated and the old version is being retired so you may get an email from Skype telling you to update your Desktop software. This is a legitimate message so you can safely go to www.skype.com and download the latest version. (Note: It is always better to go directly to the website instead of clicking on a link in an email message just in case the bad guys are making their emails look legitimate.)

For those clients (with Windows computers) who I have installed Ninite (www.ninite.com) in your Maintenance folder just open that folder on your Desktop and double click the Ninite icon and it will update Skype and any other software on your computer that needs updating. I have started using Ninite to update the software on Windows computers because the bad guys are getting very sophisticated with their fake messages. If you use Ninite then you can safely ignore any update messages and simply go to your Maintenance folder and run Ninite and it will update any software that really needs updating (and it won't install any of those junk toolbars and it won't change your Home Page in your browser). So if you have Ninite then the next time you see an update message just ignore it and close it and instead open your Maintenance folder on your desktop and open Ninite to update your software. If you don't have Ninite then go to www.ninite.com to get it or have me do it for you the next time I see you.
