Perfection Tire Helps Vets Reach New Heights
Kennewick, WA - March 7, 2013A few years ago Dan Nelson saw a news story about Camp Patriota non-profit organization that offers outdoor adventures to wounded and disabled veterans. The story showed veterans of all generations who were blind and missing limbs climbing Mt. Rainier, fishing and hunting. The vets were together laughing and having fun. "Those guys reminded me of all great times and friendships that I made through fishing, hunting and other adventures. I knew right then that I needed to get involved, I found the website and sent off an email."said Mr. Nelson.

The next day Dan received a phone call from Micah Clark, Executive Director of Camp Patriot. Mr. Clark listened as Dan reeled off ideas of how he could help. "Dan was so excited, he had amazing ideas of how to combine his love of cars and driving into fundraising events for Camp Patriot." Since that conversation Dan has personally raised over $4,000 for Camp Patriot through the proceeds from auto shows and demolition derby events.

This past January, Dan had another brilliant idea, as the manager of Perfection Tire in Kennewick, Washington, he contacted the owners of all four Perfection Tire Shops in the Tri-Cities area and asked if they would be willing donate $1 for each tire sold to Camp Patriot. "The shop owners, Kim Palmer, Marvin and Shane Anderson are proud supporters of all our service members and veterans, they immediately said yes!" offered Mr. Nelson. The program started in January and is estimated to generate near $20,000 for Camp Patriot over the next 12 months.

"We have more requests than we have resources to fund, however with Perfection Tire's help we are able to reach more of the 2.3 million disabled veterans living in America. Our mission is so vital now as it's through our outdoor adventures that we are able to build trusted relationships with veterans. It's these relationships that help open doors to new employment opportunities, education and healthcare treatment options." offered Micah Clark of Camp Patriot.

Proceeds from tires sales will pay for veteran's adventures and help to fund an endowment that will enable Camp Patriot to deliver its programs in perpetuity. "We are so grateful for the Dan Nelsons of the world who have found ways to give back to those who have given so much." added Mr. Clark.
