Greetings!
In this spring 2013 edition, you can read an update about what two of our Life Purpose Coach® grads are up to, pray with us for the launch of a church-based coaching center in Canada, and meditate on a devotional about being courageous. (We're urging all grads to send us their updates with photos! We'd like to showcase your work too.)
A Life Purpose Coaching Center (whether in a church, para-church organization, or private practice) coaches clients toward God's plan in specialized areas such as recovery, finances, marriage, parenting, career, ministry, health & wellness, hope, grief, and relationships. Thus, LPCCI now trains in those primary areas.
LPCCI is accredited by these prestigious agencies as an
Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units
for Life Purpose Coach® students:
International Coach Federation (ICF)
International Association of Continuing Education Training (IACET)
Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE)
--as a Board-Certified, Coach Training Provider (BCC)--
NOTE: One goof in previous newsletter: Dr. B's ICCA article will appear in the
2.3 edition next quarter; it wasn't scheduled for the 2.2 edition this quarter. Sorry!

HONORING LIFE PURPOSE COACH® GRAD:
LINDA GRABER
The decision to enroll in seminary represents a prayerful, life-changing, and faith-filled step in a person's journey.
That's why Rockbridge Seminary recruited a Life Purpose Coach® graduate, Linda Graber, to serve as the seminary's newest Admissions Coach!
Potential students will receive from Linda the wise, compassionate, and thoughtful guidance that God has equipped her to provide.

Linda has been making LPCCI proud since March 2006 when she presented some research about non-profits at our first coaching conference in Laguna Beach. Now, she's a Level 5 Instructor.
Linda surprised and delighted Dr. B by arranging a meeting for her and some fellow coaches with the Women's Ministry Director at
Focus on the Family.
Then the ladies (Linda, Lisa Kindermann, and Terri Baxter) went off to support Katie at a Navigators' retreat and enjoy fun times together.
Linda's husband Pastor Eddie (pictured in red circle here and in the bright orange sweater above) was the one who bought her a copy of Pathway to Purpose and then saw how much she loved LPCCI. So he decided to join the March 2007 Laguna class, when the training was first offered to men. Here he is with some of his classmates on the beach boardwalk.
Linda started the Genesis XXI Foundation (with its theme of New Beginnings) with their daughter Sarah. Its mission statement is "to come along physicians and pastors, helping them discover and fulfill their God-given life purpose." To aid in funding the family's not-for-profit organization, Linda and her brother, Robert McGee, DDS, wrote a book in 2012 entitled Patient's Dental Handbook.
Linda wants you to know that Rockbridge Seminary will equip you for your 21st century ministry through learning that honors your calling, frees you to learn where you serve, helps you assess and develop ministry competencies, recognizes the important role of local mentors, and offers a global learning community.

Being Courageous
Excerpted from Dr. Brazelton's latest book, The One Year® Recovery Prayer Devotional:
365 Daily Meditations toward Discovering Your True Purpose, as is pictured on left side bar.*
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
Psalm 56:4
I was filled with agonizing dread on September 19, 1990, as I headed into my children's school, but I put on a brave face. I needed to tell my third-grade daughter and fifth-grade son that their father, whom they adored, had just died after quadruple bypass surgery. It's still tough to flash back on their faces, their shock, as I shared the news with each of them separately and privately in the principal's office. And after that sad, frightening day, I only had two real options for facing my fears of single parenting. The first was to trust God with every fiber of my being, and the second was to curl up and die. I preferred the latter, but chose the former, only for the sake of my kids.
Somewhere, years earlier, I had learned that courage was a fearless trusting of God who is able, and during this painful season, I needed all the courage a faithful God would offer. In what way have you needed to be courageous and trust God to see you through or save you? Perhaps, as a member of Al-Anon or Alateen, you needed to be brave when staging an intervention for an alcoholic family member, when facing financial ruin, or when escaping with your life. Did you let fear stop you from what needed to be done?
And what about now, when you need courage to tell the truth, face an illness, defend a belief, confront a psychological fear, stand up for yourself, or walk alongside someone else who's terrified? Like Peter, will you step out of the boat and walk on water toward Jesus, in spite of being deeply afraid? Matthew 14:31 tells us that when Peter began to sink, Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him, saying, "You have so little faith . . . . Why did you doubt me?"
Will you cry out as Peter did, "Save me, Lord!" when strong wind and waves begin to petrify you? (Matthew 14:30).
Soul Search
What scares you about your life, recovery, or ministry-mission opportunities? In what specific, God-inspired way can you take courage now?
Captain of the Lord's host, thank you that when I prayed to you, you answered me and freed me from all my fears.**

Head to Soul Makeover
Television is full of "REAL-ity" shows, but it's still hard to know what's "real." Head-to-Soul Makeover is a 10-week small group study that helps teen girls become more real...like Jesus! ...by developing eight character qualities. Take magazine-style self-quizzes that are themed using popular television reality shows; then use the results to choose Makeover Challenges from the Bible to give you a head-to-soul makeover. To purchase the leader's guide and participant's guide, click here.
