Glenn Hendricks for Sunnyvale City Council
|
|
Candidate Glenn Hendricks has plenty of experience as a policymaker in city government and wants to apply it serving on the Sunnyvale City Council. Hendricks currently serves on the city Planning Commission, which has had to deal with a number of major development issues, as well as zoning and variances. He has also chaired the Commission. Prior to that Glenn Hendricks served on the City's Personnel Board (including as Chairman). He also served on the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Committee on paramedic service in Sunnyvale and the Charter Review Committee. Under Sunnyvale's system, candidates run citywide for a numbered seat. Glenn Hendricks is running for Seat #2. Two Democrats are opposing him. Professionally, Glenn is a Senior Engineering Manager at PayPal, with prior professional experience at Schwab, Visa, Neoforma and eBay. He is a systems development executive with successful IPO experience and a proven track record in delivering Internet e-commerce products and services. Hendricks' priorities for the city are: to hire a new City Manager, to get the Downtown Project completed, to support the Public Safety Department in their efforts to reduce crime, and to ensure the long-term fiscal sustainability of the city. Glenn is a lifelong Sunnyvale resident. He attended Mango Jr. High (now Sunnyvale Middle School), graduated from Fremont High School, and then enlisted in the U.S. Marines. Glenn and his wife Cindy have three children. You can learn more about Glenn on his campaign website.

Bay Area Republicans Ginn & Slonsky-Breault Win Leadership Posts
Long-time Republican leader Roseann Slonsky-Breault was elected President of the California Republican Federated Women at the convention held on October 26, in Stockton. She will take office on January 1, 2014 and will serve a two-year term. At the recent CRP convention in Anaheim, tech innovator Aaron Ginn was elected to the CRP Executive Committee to represent CRP Associate Delegates from the entire state. Roseann is the past Chair of the Alameda County Republican Party and served as the CFRW Northern Division President. Aaron, who lives in Foster City and works in San Francisco for a tech start-up, has been working with both the California Republican Party and the Republican National Committee to enlist young engineers to help boost the party's technological capability. CRP Adopts New Endorsement Procedures for Partisan Offices
At its recent convention in Anaheim, the CRP modified its by-laws to allow GOP County Central Committees to lead the endorsement process for Congress, State Senate and State Assembly. Only if the county parties in a legislative district endorse and are in substantial agreement may the CRP endorse - and then only to support the counties' decision. In addition, a sole Republican candidate for partisan office will now be both the nominee and the endorsed GOP candidate at any time after close of filing. Congratulations to Rules Committee Vice Chair Deborah Wilder, who led an open, interactive process to develop the final language.
Best regards,
