Techie Aaron Ginn for CRP Associate Representative

As he runs for CRP Associate Representative, SF Bay Area technology advisor Aaron Ginn offers to put his skills to work for the California Republican Party.

Ginn has worked at several tech companies, worked last year as a tech staffer for the Romney presidential campaign, and is co-founder of the "Growth Hacking" movement.  Growth hacking uses creative technological approaches to attract new users to a website or product.

"I'm running because I believe that the California Republican Party can do better," Ginn said. "As the Head of Growth at StumbleUpon, one of the most popular sites for 18 to 24 year olds, it is my job to reach people, convert them and have them take action. I look forward to bringing those same skills to the CRP, and help Chairman Brulte usher in the next California Republican Party comeback."

Some of Ginn's initial endorsements include:  Congressman and House Deputy Whip Aaron Schock, RNC's Chief Technology Officer Andy Barkett, NRCC's Digital Director Gerrit Lansing, former Chief Digital Strategist of the NRSC Katie Harbath, and other political/tech leaders.

"Aaron Ginn is bringing a fresh perspective to the Republican Party," Representative Schock said.  "His expertise in technology and growth will help us outreach to new audiences and win future races."

CRP's Associate Delegate Representative serves a two year term and represents Associate Delegates on the Party's Executive and Platform committees.  The election will be held on Saturday, October 5 at the CRP Fall Convention.  Only Associate Delegates are entitled to vote.

Ginn graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Business and double minored in Behavioral Finance and Chinese.  He is the grandson of Chinese immigrants, has participated in mission trips to four continents with his church, and started and grew the largest church based college ministry in Texas in two years while at TCU.

He worked as an innovation consultant for Lockheed Martin, founded conservative grassroots technology organization LincolnLabs which holds "hackathons" throughout the nation and has been featured in dozens of national publications and television interviews.

Learn more about Aaron in this Politico article or at his campaign website, www.electginn.com .

Enthusiastic Support for CRP Convention
This Weekend in Anaheim

With sold-out hotels and a packed schedule of meetings to build the party base, the Anaheim Fall Convention represents a new enthusiasm in the California Republican Party.

Kicking off convention activities this Friday in Anaheim will be keynote speeches by national leaders and a Salute to Volunteers.  For links to the full agenda, and events of particular interest to Bay Area delegates, visit the BayAreaGOP Convention Page.

Key Decisions for Delegates and Associate Delegates

Whether you are a Delegate or Associate Delegate, you will have an important role in this convention.

Associate Delegates will have an opportunity to support a candidate for Associate Representative, with polls opening at 9am on Saturday.  BayAreaGOP has endorsed Aaron Ginn, a Bay Area technology innovator who brings knowledge of internet campaigning that will help win elections in 2014. Read the adjacent article on Aaron to learn more about his unique experience that has gained recognition by national Party leaders.

Delegates will be considering important amendments to the Party endorsement process to empower County Committees for the 2014 elections. Legislative, Congressional, County Chairs and Grassroots leaders encourage support for amendments proposed by Mike Spence and Deborah Wilder.  You will find links to messages from our leaders regarding these key decisions on the BAGOP Convention Page.

If you are a Delegate or Associate Delegate who plans to attend the Convention, please make sure that your County Coordinator knows how to reach you in Anaheim.  If you're a Delegate not attending, please make sure that your Coordinator knows how your proxy is being handled.  The coordinators are listed on the Convention Page.

Since this Convention promises to be action-packed, Bay Area convention attendees should plan to attend our briefings on Friday and Saturday nights at 10pm in the El Capitan B Room.  You'll receive the latest news on Convention votes to take place, and refreshments will be provided.  Roseann Slonsky-Breault, candidate for CFRW President, will join us on Saturday night.

We look forward to seeing you at this Convention and moving the Party forward to a competitive election in 2014.

Best regards,
Luis
