The Winter Catalog Sells Books. Lots of Books.
By now, most of the MPIBA bookstores have received their imprinted Winter Catalogs ... and quite a few bookstores have already inserted in quantity into their local or regional newspapers, completed direct mail campaigns, and placed the catalogs around their store and around town.

We hope that the catalog will contribute to every bookstore's robust sales during the holiday season and beyond!
And Giraffes Are Hot.
"I've already had to reorder A TOWER OF GIRAFFES!"
Vicki Law Burger, Wind City Books in Casper, Wyoming
(The spectacular art from this title is featured throughout this year's Winter Catalog.)

Booksellers Raved in 2014
"I was so busy in December ... the Winter Catalog was a huge success for me! It brought so many people in the store that I didn't know existed!"
Marya Johnston, Out West Books in Grand Junction, Colorado

"Our December was off the charts. The catalog sales were great. Looking forward to another busy year."
Karen Berg, Next Page Books & Nosh in Frisco, Colorado

"People just flowed in, waving the catalog."
Susie Wilmer, Old Firehouse Books in Fort Collins, Colorado

More ideas if you are new to the process:
  • Insert in local papers. Many stores have already inserted and and are continuing to insert into local and regional newspapers.
  • Mail to customers.
  • Place in other retail outlets.
  • Stuff in bags, hand out at your events and other community events.
  • Bring it to local independent living communities and take orders.
  • Have staffers choose a title they think will do well and have a competition to see which title sells the most copies. The winning bookseller gets a gift certificate or prize.
  • Build a store display. Carry this throughout the store with mini displays in different sections.
  • Use the Shelf Talkers sent in your boxes of catalogs to visually connect the book on the shelf to the catalog in hand.
  • Include the catalog in book shipments.
