The extensive trails system at The Rocks is open daily, year-round, from dawn until dusk. Leashed pets are welcome to accompany their people on the trails. For visitors using their smart phones, The Rocks also offers a Mobile Tour, where visitors may learn more about the history of the Estate, modern day conservation and management practices there, and the different types of Christmas trees grown on the farm. Exhibiting through December 14 at Drerup Art Gallery - History and Techniques of Printmaking On display for the first time at PSU are works by Durer, Hiroshige, Goya, Kollwitz, Piranesi, Christo and Miro, among others in this wonderful teaching collection. The exhibit is a historical overview of the varieties of methods, techniques, and styles produced by artists from 1500 to the present. Technical examples of work include woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, engravings and serigraphs. The collection, owned by painter and teacher George Burk, is curated by George's son, art historian Efram Burk. Exhibiting through December 14 - Joseph Blajda: Stuffed Toy Series Joe Blajda '75 is an accomplished painter, musician and teacher, and an avid surfer. In his oil paintings he examines the moods and color of his environments, whether internal or external, neighborhood visions or ocean tranquility. With this series, Joe investigates the colors, textures and psychological nuances of the moods present in this subject, stuffed toys. At Silver Center Exhibiting through December 21 - Karl Drerup Art Gallery will present a special exhibition of the etchings of Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes, selections from the Renowned Disasters of War series. The works are from the collection of Hans Guggenheim, Boston-based collector, professor of Anthropology, artist, and founder of Projectguggenheim, an educational initiative supporting the study and development of indigenous artistic traditions. Wednesday, December 5, 7pm - Landaff Days, A Reading by Don Wharton Karl Drerup Art Gallery is proud to present a reading from "Landaff Days, Sketches from New Hampshire's North Country" by Don Wharton. The readings are of sketches Don has written since moving to town of Landaff, New Hampshire. The forests, fields, mountains, weather, wildlife and people are the particular subjects of his sketches of rural life.
