Greetings!

Greetings, I hope this newsletter finds you doing well and having a great summer.

What a thrilling British Open on a very challenging golf course. It was great to see Phil capture the British Open and get one step closer to the career grand slam. His final round 66 was amazing, highlighted by birdieing four of his last six, including 17 and 18. Looking forward to next week's PGA Championship at Oak Hill and seeing who wins  the year's final major.

We had six people who correctly picked Phil Mickelson as the winner. There is another chance to win a free lesson by picking the PGA Championship winner next week- picks need to be emailed in before the start of play (8/8).
In the rest of the newsletter, you will see the following features:

*Video Tip on how to find the correct ball position for each club and it's influence on ball flight.

*Video of 2013 British Open Champion- Phil Mickelson.
*Honor Roll Students
*Upcoming dates for Play with the Pro and Short Game School.

     SWING TIP OF THE MONTH

                 Ball Position

In this video, you will see how to get the the proper ball position for each club and it's influence on the ball flight.

If there is a subject that you would like for me to focus on in a future swing tip of the month, please let me know so I can do so. I hope you find these videos helpful for your game.

PGA Tour Player Swing of the Month

2013 British Open Champion

Phil Mickelson

This video compares Phil's swing (in a right handed version) to that of Sam Snead, one of the best players/ball strikers of all time who still holds the record for most victories ever on the PGA Tour. The reason I did this video was that quite a few golf commentators/instructors focused on how Phil needed to change his backswing, by shortening it, to become a better ball striker. As you will see in the video, Phil's and Sam's backswing are almost identical, but have very different down swings, and thus, I believe, should have the been the focus of the changes, not the backswing.

Hope you enjoy!
