Greetings!

Greetings, I hope this newsletter finds you doing well.
Tiger Woods continued his phenomenal play at Torrey Pines by winning the 2013 Farmers Invitational by four shots over defending champion Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater. Hopefully you were able to make it out to Torrey Pines to watch the best players in the world.
With Tiger's great play as well as that of the other 2013 winners (Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson, etc...), 2013 is looking like a wonderful year for golf on the PGA Tour. I am already looking forward to this year's first major, the Masters, coming up in mid April.
In the rest of the newsletter, you will see the following features:

*Video Tip on the grip.

*Video of 2013 Accenture Match Play Champion
 Matt Kuchar.
*Honor Roll Students
*Upcoming dates for One Day Golf School, Short Game School, and Play with the Pro.

     SWING TIP OF THE MONTH

Grip

As Ben Hogan eloquently stated, "Good golf begins with a good grip." The reason for this statement is two fold:
1) The grip is the largest influence on the clubface, which is the biggest influence on the direction the ball goes and 2) The grip plays a very important role in the ability to hinge your wrists, creating very valuable leverage and speed.
Hopefully by watching the video and with a little exploration, you will find the best grip for you. I highly recommend purchasing a training grip and putting it on an extra club so that you can get the practice and feel of how to place your hands on the club.

PGA Tour Player Swing of the Month

2013 Accenture Match Play Champion

Matt Kuchar

Matt continued his amazing match play performance by capturing the 2013 Match Play Championship with a 2-1 victory over Hunter Mahan.  Kuchar, the 1997 United States Amateur Champion, raised his career record at the event to an amazing 15-3...certainly he enjoys the match play format.

Matt is also an amazing ping pong and tennis player as well, which might help explain why he has one of the flattest backswings on tour, as you will see in the video above.

Honor Roll Students

  • Jack Elkins- Jack and his partner, Jim Duvall, beat 47 other teams in capturing the Fairbanks Ranch member-member event.
  • Robert Carty- Robert shot his career low round of 86, beating his previous best by 2, at Eastlake.
  • Peter Yang- Peter broke 100 for the first time with a 99 at Encinitas Ranch.
  • Matt Rice- Matt broke 80 for the first time with a 78 at Sea N Air.
  • Curtis White- Curtis shot his career low of 96 at Cottonwood, an amazing 20 shots better than his previous low.
  • Ji Hwan Park- Ji Hwan shot his career low of 96 at Mission Trails, 15 shots better than his previous best.

If you have had a great round or accomplishment in golf, please share it with me so that I may put it in the next newsletter.
