Grief Support Classes
for Personal Healing,
Professional Development, and Certification
Dear Friends, Clients and Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce the new classes being offered in 2014, nine classes now available on-demand, and more new classes coming in 2015-2016. In addition, the Animal Loss and Grief Support Professional Program of Study now has an exclusive website section detailing an overview of the program, class listings, faculty, certification requirements and a code of ethics for grief support and healing arts professionals. Over the next two years, more in-depth classes will be offered for both practitioners and for all of us who love our animals and are deeply committed to providing the best for them and for our own healing when experiencing loss and grief.

It is inevitable that all of us on earth will experience losses in our lifetime; and it is inevitable that we will grieve these losses, albeit each in our own unique way. Healing and growing from loss, however, is not inevitable. Healing is a conscious choice. Contrary to the myth that "time heals all wounds," the passage of time only serves to lessen the intensity of emotional pain. To heal what causes our emotional pain requires conscious intent. The classes offered by Animals in our Hearts are designed to help us to consciously meet the goal of grief recovery: to fully heal the heart and use the crisis of loss to grow.

I hope you'll enjoy exploring the classes and find ones that may be an ideal fit for your needs or those of someone you know. You are lovingly welcome to join us in any of these classes!

With love and blessings of tenderness and healing to your and your animal loved ones,

The Purpose of the Animal Loss and Grief Support
Professional Program of Study is to:

Support individuals who are grieving the loss of animal loved ones by:
A) offering classes to help them cope with and heal from the unique grief of pet loss, and
B) increasing the number of client-centered, empathy-based grief support practitioners available to support them with tremendous empathy, love and skill.

Contribute to the professional development of pet loss grief support practitioners, with an in-depth, comprehensive educational program for professional competency development.

Advance the pet loss grief support field with a first-of-its-kind training program, which addresses and integrates both psychological and spiritual issues and paradigms of loss and grief healing, and includes the perspectives of the animals themselves.

Promote a deepened cultural awareness and respect for the dignity and legitimacy of human grief from the loss of animal loved ones.

The logo for the program symbolizes three things:

* That growth that is possible even as the heart is broken

* That the love, understanding and support from others can hold a
sacred space for our fragile hearts as they heal

* That the great love we've created with our beloved ones who have
died still surrounds us and supports us as we heal. . .and always.

With love, all pain can turn into medicine
