Two things happened to me recently that made me want to focus this newsletter on going "back to the basics of animal communication."  One was a consultation with an incredibly special family where I was privileged to witness the power of love and wisdom that can emerge when communicating with animals. You can read their story, A Miracle of Love Amongst Dogs below.

The second thing was re-reading one of my favorite animal communication books of all time, Kinship with All Life  by J. Allen Boone. Written in 1954, my own 1976 edition is old and yellowed. As the author found himself beginning to communicate with a dog in his care, a Hollywood star named Strongheart who headlined Jack London's White Fang, he sought help from teachers. He did not have the options we have today with hundreds of professional animal communicators around the globe offering classes in person, on line and instruction in books, cds and ebooks. There were no formal teachers. But he did find a man named Mojave Dan who lived in the desert with his dogs and mules and talked with them. One of my favorite lines in the book is from Dan:

"There's facts about dogs and there's opinions about them. The dogs have the facts, and the humans have the opinions. If you want facts about a dog, always get them straight from the dog.
If you want opinions, get them from the human."

This is surely the truth! When we want to really know what animals are thinking, feeling or experiencing, we need to talk with them. Directly. Not via archetypal theories that assert that every individual in a species has the exact same purpose on earth or is here to share the exact same healing qualities, and not via connecting with a group consciousness of a species which may tell us nothing whatsoever about an individual animal.

Telepathic communication with an animal involves having an actual one on one conversation with a real individual animal--perhaps an animal we love, want to know better, one with whom we want to resolve a problem or a wild animal we've come across. When we open ourselves to soul to soul communication with another being beyond any preconceived ideas, beliefs or expectations filtering what we perceive, it is then that we create the sacred space which allows for clear communication, greater understanding of mutual needs, deeper intimacy and respect, and more love. With this type of communication we are talking with animals, not about them.

I am passionate about telepathic animal communication--about doing it, teaching it, conducting  it within the context of professional boundaries and ethics, and keeping it grounded and real. KINSHIP WITH ALL LIFE

An enduring classic, this animal communication book still makes me smile and cry happy tears whenever I re-read it. It is the precursor to the many fine contemporary books by my teachers and peers in the animal communication field. Written in 1954 by J. Allen Boone, the author regales the stories of his connection and communication with a very special German Shepherd named Strongheart who was the star in the original Jack London's White Fang movie and many others written for him as the lead actor. It was Strongheart who opened Boone's heart, and taught him how to communicate telepathically not only with him but with all animals. Inspiring and entertaining stories include many about Boone and Strongheart, Freddie the Fly, as well as touching tales of communication with snakes, ponies, horses, camels, skunks, worms, and ants.
