| ECSF Grantseekers' Workshop coming to a church near you
The Episcopal Community Services Foundation is holding six workshops around the diocese from June 1 to July 13 to give people the chance to explore ECSF's new funding priorities and to share lore with other people responding to poverty in nearby communities. An Ohio non-profit, ECSF is the diocese's primary source of grants for community ministry. This is your chance to learn the rationale underlying ECSF's current grantmaking. The workshop dates and locations, proposal instructions, funding priorities, and registration form are on ECSF's website http://www.ECSFsouthernohio.org. Requests for 2014 grants are due Sept. 15.
ECSF accepting midcycle grant requests through July 31 ECSF has a total of $7,000 for available for mid-cycle grants this year. Programs currently receiving an ECSF grant can request an emergency grant if their services are endangered because of extraordinary circumstances beyond the ability of the sponsoring church to respond. You can also request a grant if swift action is essential to take advantage of special opportunities. This category applies to projects which haven't yet been funded by ECSF. Proposal instructions are on ECSF's website, at the Awarding Grants link.

Diocesan Intentional Communities recruiting Service Fellows
| | Floral House Fellows |
"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" - Mary Oliver
At the Floral House Intentional Community we often begin conversations with our prospective members by asking Mary Oliver's question: "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?' Can you think of one young adult (age 22 - 35) who would love to be asked this question? Maybe it is you!
The Floral House Intentional Community is a Diocesan program designed to help recent college graduates discover how God is calling them to put their faith into action. Fellows work at a local placement site, typically a church or service organization in Cincinnati, while living together and participating in reflection and spiritual formation. The cost of living for the Fellow, including a monthly stipend, rent, food, travel costs, optional health insurance, program activities, and retreats are covered by donations from placement sites. We are currently inviting applications for the 2013-2014 program year which starts this September. For more information, check us out at www.praxiscommunities.org/floral-house/.
Andrea Bardelmeier is the Program Director and is happy to chat with anyone who would like more information, she can be reached at abardelmeier@diosohio.org or 616.610.0642.
FT Volunteer Corps Positions Still Open for Confluence!
Confluence is a year-long service-learning program in the lower west side neighborhood of Franklinton, just a mile from downtown Columbus. Confluence is for college graduates or young adults with comparable experience who commit to a year of spiritual formation, vocational discernment, social justice and intentional community. The Confluence year runs from Aug 2013 - June 2014.
Spend a year in INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY learning to live simply and sustainably in a home with four others in the impoverished lower west side neighborhood of Franklinton in Columbus, OH.
Go deep into VOCATIONAL DISCERNMENT working with a leading social service organization doing dynamic work on the margins. Participants get placed with a worksite for the year, and work 35 hours per week with organizations like, Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Ohio Assc. of Food Banks, Boys and Girls Club, Franklinton Development Assc, and Lower Lights Ministries
Learn to enact SOCIAL JUSTICE through volunteering 5 hours a week with neighborhood non profits like the Franklinton Gardens and Franklinton Cycleworks, both started by Jezreel, an Intentional Community in Franklinton.
Pursue SPIRITUAL FORMATION through contemplative practices with your housemates, and worship and service opportunities with St. John's Episcopal Church, which serves the large homeless population of Franklinton.
Anyone of any faith may apply, but this program is shaped primarily by the Christian faith as expressed by the Episcopal Church. Because an aspect of the program is to be a means to empower young adults to discernment and independent living, we are not considering applicants over 30 at this time. While many of our worksites do require a college degree, we are open to young adults with comparable experience.
Participants receive health insurance, room & board including a full share CSA, monthly stipend, COTA pass, bicycle, and internet & utilities.

Children's art camp highlights 'Art as a Spiritual Connection' If you have a child in your life, you may be interested in a unique art exploration for children sponsored by All Saints, Pleasant Ridge and Spirited Hand. Art as a Spiritual Connection™ is a new kind of art camp experience for children entering fourth through eighth grades. Created and led by artist and spiritual formation leader Fabricia Duell, the small camp is deeply rooted in contemplative spirituality. It uses art as a medium for building a relationship to the Divine and fostering love, generosity, patience and curiosity. It is organized around four concepts applicable in both the spiritual life and the creation of art: * Art is universal - art is for all * Layer by layer - the artistic process takes time * Art requires practice - art is an everyday thing * Art is community - share what you know with others Each day's schedule will include yoga and a lesson, two art studio periods, lunch, play and quiet meditation. Art projects children will work on include prayer journals; prayer beads; Jesus, the soul friend; healing collage; tree of life; prayer flags; and mandalas. Two Monday-through-Friday camp sessions will take place: June 17 through 21 (registration deadline: June 1) and July 22 through 26 (registration deadline June 15). There is a registration fee of $80 per child ($50 for additional siblings). For more information, registration form and online registration, visit www.allsaintscincinnati.org and click on the "Art Camp" box on the home page. You also may email Fabricia Duell at children@allsaintscincinnati.org. All Saints is located in the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood at 6301 Parkman Place (one block from Montgomery Road at Grand Vista). |

Time for Phase 2 of virtual tour project
Spring has sprung, and scheduling for Phase 2 of our project to offer 360-degree virtual tours of all our congregations on Google+ has begun.
In 2012, 19 congregations from all around the diocese and the Procter Center were able to add a 360-degree virtual tour to their online presence at no cost to the congregation. These tours are a great way to invite someone to check out your space from the comfort of their own computer - and remove just one more barrier that may be stopping them from becoming a part of your community.
A new, exciting additional benefit is that the tours are now available on mobile Google Maps. That means when someone finds your location on a mobile Google Map, they can view the virtual tour directly from their smartphone!
Several congregations are already in line for this year, and routes are being established to more efficiently photograph each geographic area of the diocese. Are you interested in being one of them? Check out more information at http://www.diosohio.org/google360tours.html to see links to all the existing tours and find out more information about how your church can get on the list. The diocese is committed to finishing this project by 2014, so even if you aren't ready this year, be thinking about scheduling for next year.
