Greetings!
It's official! The Cabinet Secretary has signed-off Fife's Integration Scheme, meaning the Health and Social Care Partnership will become an official body on 03 October 2015.
Today is the start of self management week. We have an exciting Forum lined up on Thursday 01 October where we will focus on self management. We'll be tweeting along with the hashtag #selfmanagement - why not join in the online conversation?
In other news the Scottish Government is driving a national conversation on 'Creating a Fairer Scotland'. We're happy to announce we're working closely with the Health and Social Care Alliance to bring the discussion here to Fife - Keep an eye on our website and e-bulletin to save the date.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 01 October where we will welcome Sara Redmond, Partnership and Practice Development Programme Manager for Self-Management at the H&SC Alliance to present on Self-Management.

'Gaun Yersel' is the Self Management Strategy for Long Term Conditions in Scotland. Launched by The ALLIANCE and the Scottish Government in September 2008 the Self Management Strategy is informed by the lived experiences of people with long term conditions.

The Self Management Partnership and Practice Programme team produced a briefing on self management which may be of interest to anyone working in health and social care. The briefing provides some key points about self management as well as outlining how to ensure self management is planned for locally.

Noncommunicable diseases global monitoring framework
Following the Political Declaration on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2011, WHO developed a global monitoring framework to enable global tracking of progress in preventing and controlling major noncommunicable diseases - cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic lung diseases and diabetes - and their key risk factors.

The Scottish Health Survey presents results for the Scottish Health Survey 2014, providing information on various health conditions as well as general health.

The WHO Regional Office for Europe publishes its flagship publication, the European health report, every three years.
The publication gives readers a vital snapshot of health in the WHO European Region and progress towards health and well-being for all. The report also shows trends in and progress towards the goals of Health 2020, the European health policy, and reveals some gaps in progress, inequalities and areas of concern and uncertainty, where action must be taken.

Personal wellbeing in the UK 2014/15
The Office for National Statistics have released data on personal wellbeing in the UK. The report shows that reported personal wellbeing has improved every year since financial year ending 2012 when data were first collected, suggesting that an increasing number of people in the UK are feeling positive about their lives.

Fife Voluntary Action is delighted with the progress being made with Health and Social Care Integration in Fife and we're proud that many of our staff play a part in the ongoing work to bring the scheme into operation. Thousands of Scots have had their voices heard in a national discussion about how to make Scotland a fairer and more equal country. Social Justice Secretary Alex Neil's journey around Scotland brought him to Kirkcaldy, where he visited Fife Voluntary Action's New Volunteer House, a 'hub' for Fife's third sector organisations. While on-site he met with a group of Fifers from various communities and backgrounds, and spent some time chatting about the issues that mattered to them.
