Greetings! The story of Christmas begins with Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem to be counted in a census. The Roman government had ordered these actions in order to accurately tax its citizens. The story concludes with wise men honoring the young child, Jesus, by bringing him gifts and treasures. Taxes and gifts continue to be a part of our holiday season today.
