An electronic publication of the Community Action Partnership's
Learning Communities Resource Center
Dear Community Action Colleagues:
The T/TA Team at the Partnership is already deep in the planning and implementation stages of the new fiscal year. The Partnership was awarded the Organizational Standards of Excellence grant which began September 30th and the Learning Communities Resource Center is in the second year with this cohort.
I hope you are taking advantage of the Early Bird Registration option and getting your agency's leadership registered for our Management and Leadership Training Conference this January in Long Beach, CA. The team has a number of important and innovative sessions planned. We are continuing to release the Organizational Standards Technical Assistance Guides; I hope those assessing the Organizational Standards at your agency will download those and review them together. There are a number of additional resources highlighted below that can help with both compliance, and going beyond compliance. As always, we welcome your feedback on existing resources and trainings that have been helpful for your work, and any that you would like to see developed.
Sincerely,
Jarle Crocker, PhD
Director, Training and Technical Assistance

Welcome to Year 2 of
the Learning Community!
October marked the beginning of Year 2 for this cohort of the Learning Community! Over the course of the last 12 months, agencies have taken a deep dive into the literature and research of their respective topic areas and created Goal Plans that are focused on key outcomes that will help them to be more impactful in the communities they serve.
Moving into Year 2, agencies will now shift from theory to practice by moving into the Piloting phase. Over the next few months, agencies will apply what they've learned to implement new strategies or programs at their agencies.
To learn more about the agencies that are participating, past events, or about the Learning Communities Resource Center, please visit our blog.
We look forward to continuing to share and learn with you in the next phase of the program!

TREND MAPPING
Have ideas about trends in the nonprofit sector, or your community, or even your agency department? Are you looking for a way to strategically examine these trends and share ideas across your team to create a plan? FSG has been running blog posts about "Trend Mapping" which they call:
"a visual depiction of relevant trends influencing the system around a give topic."
FSG has examples and a downloadable guide available. This tool could be helpful for Community Action as we plan for community level change.
