(April 7, 2016) -- Economic Opportunity Studies (EOS) and Community Action Partnership (Partnership) have announced a new joint project that will serve local weatherization assistance delivery organizations, as well as their partners and associations.
The Weatherization Leveraged Partnerships Project, originally created by and housed at EOS, has garnered support from the U.S. Department of Energy for nearly 15 years. This spring, EOS and the Partnership have merged their staff and communications resources to support development of future weatherization program partnerships. The alliance represents a merger of EOS longstanding efforts with the Partnership's policy and program experience with energy affordability programs.
The joint venture will now be housed at the Partnership's national headquarters in Washington, DC. The group has also initiated a search for candidates for a new Policy Associate position dedicated to this project.
"Merging EOS's work and mission with that of the Partnership will strengthen the Leveraging Project's reach and communications to weatherization network agencies with respect to the energy affordability programs and issues that make up so large a share of their work," said EOS Executive Director Meg Power. "The CAP team will grow in policy and programmatic capacity to support and coordinate the work of their members with local and national partners in the energy programs. Thereby, the Weatherization Leveraged Partnerships Project will continue to serve all local weatherization organizations and their state and regional partners."
"Our efforts at the local, state, and national levels are stronger when working together and we are pleased that we can maximize the resources of both organizations through this joint effort," stated Partnership CEO Denise Harlow. "This venture will provide new opportunities to expand the reach of both organizations, and also to strengthen the Community Action Network's impact on energy related issues and weatherization. We are excited to be involved in the project's continued success." Keep an eye on the Partnership's website for more information on the project and contact Denise Harlow at dharlow@communityactionpartnership.com with any questions.
