Our opening keynote address is Dr. Lester Salamon, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies.

You can get a preview by reading the recent Nonprofit Quarterly piece from his recent book, The Resilient Sector Revisited-The New Challenge for Nonprofit America.
Read it here.

Our luncheon will feature David Bradley, Executive Director of National Community Action Foundation (NCAF), who will present a legislative update and outlook for the coming election year. David's untiring work on H.R.1655, CSBG re-authorization, introduced in the House of Representatives in March, 2015, and his efforts in support of Community Action and CSBG over the past several decades, have been unmatched.  Community Action is stronger because of David's work and we look forward to hearing his thoughts and comments as we move into the next cycle.
Our host Community Action Agency in New Orleans, Total Community Action, will be offering an optional "New Orleans Resilience Tour" on Thursday afternoon, January 7, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. The tour will give attendees the opportunity to view areas in the Lower 9th Ward that have been the hub of redevelopment and restoration, including the Lower 9th Neighborhood Empowerment Association and the Lower 9th Center for Sustainable Engagement & Development. Registrants will also see some homes developed under Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation. Attendees will view significant historical sites, such as Homer Plessy Historical Marker site. Plessy v. Ferguson became universally known as the "separate but equal law."
