Get a head start on reviewing and selecting the sessions that are best for you, your board, and staff.We are so pleased to offer more than 100 workshops, mini-general, and general sessions to address a broad range of issues relevant to our Community Action network. We are confident that our Annual Convention will be a good investment of your time and money and we look forward to seeing many of you in San Francisco!

We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco in just over 10 days!  In addition to our General Session speakers,  we have  more than 100 workshops, Mini-General Sessions, Affinity Groups, RoundTable Forums, and our Awards Gala to offer you and your colleagues a memorable and very productive  week!  On Wednesday evening, August 26th, we will be screening the acclaimed movie, "Selma" - with popcorn and lemonade for all!  A discussion about the movie and related issues will follow.

SPEAKERS WILL INCLUDE: 
Dr. Blanca Enriquez, Director, Office of Head Start, HHS 
Dr. Enriquez will address our Community Action Network for the first time since she was appointed Director of OHS.  She will share her outlook and updates on the important partnership between Community Action and Head Start.  Dr. Enriquez will be joining us for the Head Start Town Hall, along with Yasmina Vinci, Executive Director of the National Head Start Association, and Biz Steinberg, of the Partnership Board of Directors.

MINI-GENERAL SESSIONS 
The sessions below are offered as special interest topics without competing workshops in this time block - Thursday, August 27th, from 9:00 am - 10:15am.

Community Action housed in a unit of government have different operational structures than their nonprofit brothers and sisters.  That is why there are particular nuances to the Organizational Standards for Public CEEs.  Join staff of the Organizational Standards Center of Excellence for Q&A as we enter the final stretch of ramp up time for the Organizational Standards.

The first in a series of webinars covering all 9 categories of the Organizational Standards, we kick off with Category 3 - Community Assessment. 
 
This webinar will follow the format of a new guide (to be released soon) and cover all 5 Standards in the category with: 
  • Information on the intent and importance of the Standard;
  • Notes on documentation and compliance;
  • How you can use the Standard to assess yourself to move beyond the Standard; and
