OFFICE OF HEAD START

Head Start Program Performance Standards:
Notice of Proposed Rule Making

WEBINAR TODAY!
Tuesday, June 16, 2015
4 p.m. EDT

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed its vision for the future of Head Start. We unveiled the first holistic revision of the Head Start Program Performance Standards since they were originally published in 1975. Today, the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) regarding the Head Start Program Performance Standards was posted for public review in the Federal Register.

The proposed Standards reflect current research, science, and best practice. They describe high-quality service delivery so Head Start is better able to focus on outcomes for children and families. They also reduce administrative and regulatory burden, and improve clarity and transparency. The Office of Head Start invites you to join us this afternoon for a webinar introducing our proposal for the Head Start Program Performances Standards.

TOPICS FOR THE WEBINAR INCLUDE:
  • Overview of the proposed Head Start Program Performance Standards
  • Description of the comment process
