EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS MAY 22
Dear Community Action Colleagues-
We are just three months away from the Annual Community Action Partnership Convention being held in San Francisco, California, August 25-28, 2015. Our theme this year is Community Action 2015: Empowering Families, Transforming Communities
We hope you will take a few moments and register now for what is sure to be an engaging week of learning, sharing, networking, and renewal.
We are planning on more than 90 workshops in tracks focused on:
* Leadership & Governance
* Community Economic Development
* Housing and Homelessness
* Organizational Standards
* Management
* Advocacy
* Marketing & Communications

Speakers from both within and outside our Network will bring information, tools and resources you can put to work back at your agency. We look forward to welcoming David Bradley, Executive Director of NCAF, and other national partners to give everyone an update as we look ahead to a very significant year.
Make your plans to come out early to San Francisco and be part of the many pre-convention activities. These include two, two-day trainings: one on the Super Circular with Wipfli and the second focused on helping CAA staff becoming Pathways to Excellence Peer Reviewers. On Tuesday, we have our annual Leadership Day providing half day training for new and seasoned Executive Directors as well as Emerging Leaders with our keynoter Jan Masaoka from California Nonprofits and editor of Blue Avocado, and Irv Katz, the outgoing Executive Director of the National Human Services Assembly.
We also have a Community Service Day planned on Tuesday afternoon, giving folks a chance to have a hands on volunteer opportunity at San Francisco Food Bank - transportation and a box lunch included.
Following the pre-convention sessions, Tuesday afternoon includes the Regional Caucuses, a networking and planning time with your regional colleagues.
Finally, Tuesday wraps up with trip to the ballpark to see the San Francisco Giants take on the Chicago Cubs. Information on purchasing game tickets - including a Community Action at the Ballpark t-shirt and ball cap, is on the Annual Convention registration form.
The Conven

tion itself will be packed with training and networking opportunities. Hot topics like CSBG Reauthorization, CSBG Organizational Standards, ROMA Next Generation and Head Start will be addressed. Management and leadership training will cross paths with sessions on asset development, good governance, veterans, and community development.
As always, Thursday night will be a highlight. From awards honoring family success and volunteer engagement to the CCAPs and leadership awards, the annual dinner and awards ceremony is not to be missed. It is our opportunity to honor and thank some very special members of our Community Action family.
Join us in San Francisco. Maximize your travel by coming a day or two early and bring your thinking
cap, it will be a busy week!
