Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi delivered the commencement address and David Wiener '13 received the Law School Medal for academic achievement as UC Davis School of Law honored graduating JD and LLM students at the 2013 Commencement Ceremony on May 17 at the UC Davis Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

UC Davis School of Law Announces New Post-Graduate Fellows Program
To assist recent graduates in a challenging legal job market, UC Davis School of Law is launching a new post-graduate fellowship program. The program will offer one-year paid positions after graduation with the UC Davis Campus Counsel and Internal Audit Services, Legal Services of Northern California, and the Law School's Immigration Law Clinic. Other placement opportunities are in the works. Fellowship positions will be open to 2013 graduates of UC Davis School of Law.

King Hall Contract Hiring Program Supports Recent Graduates
Seeking new ways to help UC Davis School of Law graduates succeed in a challenging job market, the King Hall Career Services Office launched a contract hiring program in 2011 that has been a hit with both law firms seeking talented new associates and King Hall alumni. The program, now in its third year, is actively recruiting alumni and friends of the Law School to increase opportunities for the Class of 2013.

In an inspiring display of unity across the generations, alumni of the UC Davis School of Law Black Law Students Association (BLSA) returned to UC Davis on April 6 for the first-ever King Hall Black Alumni Reunion.

The King Hall Annual Fund: Keeping the Dream Alive
With state funding now accounting for less than 10 percent of the Law School budget, support for the King Hall Annual Fund is more important than ever.  Gifts to the Annual Fund provide support for critical priorities and give the Law School flexibility needed to direct resources to areas of greatest need, from scholarships that help King Hall attract the best and brightest to student organizations, moot court and mock trial competitions, library services, and technology upgrades.

Emeritus Profile: Professor Joel C. Dobris
For more than 30 years, Professor Joel C. Dobris was one of UC Davis School of Law's best and most beloved instructors, a leading authority in the field of trusts and estates law, and a fixture of the King Hall community who could always be counted on to participate in the annual Cardozorama talent show. Now, thanks to his grateful students, his legacy will live on following his retirement with the Joel Dobris Student Support Fund.

New King Hall Alumni Group Forms in Fresno
King Hall alumni in the Fresno area have formed a new group to enhance connections between UC Davis School of Law graduates living in the region and provide a support network for recent alumni.
