Expedia & Travelocity

Arguably the biggest Travel Marketing story over the last two weeks is the announcement that Travelocity will from next year be powered by Expedia.

The Travelocity press release can be read here:

PhoCusWright completed a very interesting write up of the event and produced an interesting graph showing the change in market share of the major North American OTAs over time.  This combination shows that over 61% of bookings will now be on the Expedia platform which will surely raise issues regarding dominance.

PATA Next Gen PATA
The Pacific Asia Travel Association came into being over 60 years ago.  Under the Leadership of Martin Craigs, the PATA Team is focused on creating a new look and "feel" for PATA.  Martin has named this project "PATA Next Gen" and the following video certainly clearly shows a new and fresh approach to the Association.  Martin will be giving an update on the Association and the major issues and challenges it is helping to address on behalf of the travel sector at The Global Travel Marketing Forum.
