Showcases of Learning
We are currently in the midst of our Showcases of Learning.  The showcases are a way we CELEBRATE with family and friends! This is an opportunity for our learners to shine and talk about and present their favorite parts of the year. Some things they can celebrate are:
  • Best/favorite projects
  • Favorite field trips, visitors, activities, school functions, etc.
  • Academic achievements
  • Social/emotional achievements
We encourage our learners  to be creative and let their presentation pieces be another extension of their individuality.

Lost and Found Reminder
Our Lost and Found is located in The Village. We have an assortment of sweatshirts, jackets, lunch bags, and other unclaimed items. Stop by and take a look if your learner has lost anything. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity if not picked up by Friday.

Fresh Fruit Snack Shack Open Daily
3-red-apples.jpg iLEAD Lancasters learners have been racing to the Snack Shack to purchase fresh fruit! Prices range from $0.25 to $0.50 per fruit, including options such as bananas, apples, and oranges. The fruit is available for sale at morning recess and iExplore extended care every day. If you're interested in having these healthy food options available for your child, simply send money with your learner each day.
Remember Your Valet Card
Please remember to bring your valet card when you pick up your learners through valet. Although we've gotten to know many of you, having your valet card makes it easier to identify you and call for your child. Occasionally someone besides Andrew may be calling for learners on the walkie-talkie. Having the valet card visible makes the system more efficient. We thank you for your support as we work to keep our learners safe and our valet system running smoothly.
Parking Reminder - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
We thank you for listening to us and being good neighbors to the businesses around us. Since we sent out our notification phone call, our families have listened and have parked in the iLEAD Lancaster parking lots.

iLEAD families are invited to park in the lots to the immediate east and west sides of the school.
Please do not park in the east lot that is farther away from our school. That is not part of iLEAD Lancaster Charter School. Cars parked there may be ticketed or towed. Use only the first driveway east of the school.
Show Your School Spirit

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 8

Habit 8 is very succinct: Find your voice and help others to find theirs.

Habit 8 is the culmination and the application of all 7 Habits, being lived within the context of a principle-driven life. The comparison to a lighthouse, standing strong against tumultuous ocean waves, is appropriate. The "world" can thrash endlessly against you--the lighthouse--but you remain strong and principled.

Living Habit 8 means you stand for what is good, right, and just. It means you are a lighthouse to others, a role model who exemplifies the 7 Habits in action. In this way, you enable others to find their voices and participate in the change we wish to see in the world.

2nd Graders Read to Feed

As a part of Read to Feed, "a program which encourages reading, while heightening students' awareness that their actions make a difference in the lives of others" (Heifer International), our learners were to get sponsors and earn money for reading. The more they read, the more money they earned for our "cow bank." Our learners had to reach a goal of $500 in order to purchase a cow, and they did! A special thanks to our second grade families; in particular to Leigh Anne Miraglia, one of our second graders who earned $110 dollars buy asking for sponsors through Facebook, and to Bettie Howard for the $100 donation. Our learners are very excited to have reached this goal. This money will be given to Heifer International Program to help families around the world. We are very proud of our second graders for seeing that this goal was met.

Middle Schoolers Shine
The end of the school year is approaching, but our wonderful middle school learners are not done shining.

On Friday, our amazing dance facilitator, Ms. Shynelle, put on a POL that included learners in K through 7th grade. Friday was also the last POL for middle school, and the learners did a great job! They were given free rein to learn about any subject of their choosing, and the variety of topics and interests was diverse. We learned about healthy cooking, planets, rap music, boxing, video game programming, how to create a board game, the evolution of turtles, how to write, how to draw, cosmetology, and even forging metal. You name it, we had it! Congratulations, middle school!
