IPI Recognizes Josh Kavanagh, CAPP

The International Parking Institute (IPI) named ACT President Josh Kavanagh, CAPP, director of University of Washington Transportation Services, its 2014 Parking Professional of the Year. IPI spotlighted Kavanagh for many accomplishments, noting in particular that, in just four years, he assembled a first-rate team and took the program to a new level. He implemented a new business model and built a $16 million reserve, allowing strategic reinvestment when many were cutting services.  He also was a primary contributor to a 2011 resource allocation and funding strategy that saved 600,000 hours of transit service per year in King County, Washington, for the last several years. See more details here.

Mark Wright Selected as ACT Executive Director

The word "interim" was removed from Mark Wright's title last week when he was selected to serve as ACT's full-time executive director. IPI Executive Director Shawn Conrad, CAE, announced the decision to the ACT board of directors earlier this month.

"I'm happy to have this opportunity to once again serve ACT and its membership during this exciting time in the association's history," said Mark. "Let's work together to have an outstanding ACT International Conference in San Francisco and move forward toward continued success into the future."
