Boatyard Ramblings
June 2015

The End Of An Era

After years of preparation and planning, the Tenneco boat became the Capt Shirley Brown artificial reef on June 2nd.  The vessel was donated by Shirley Bryan and Ted Brown to the State of Alabama for public use as an artificial diving and fishing reef off the coast of Orange Beach, Alabama.  The boat was towed offshore in ideal conditions and sank quietly, landing stern first and upright on the sandy Gulf ocean floor.

The boats location is:  30*03.192N-087*34.049W

As of yesterday, divers observed red snapper exploring the Gulf's newest reef!
