Gasmaster Feature: Span Calibration

The Gasmaster is a great tool for both IAQ and IH Professionals. The base unit works with over 20 different gas sensor heads in a variety of concentration ranges and can also measure temperature and humidity with the optional dongle. This makes it both versatile and affordable for a consultant. You can start with the base unit and 1 or two gas sensors and then expand your sensor collection over time allowing you to take on a greater variety of consulting jobs.

One of the overlooked features of the Gasmaster is that it can be checked and calibrated by the user. Instructions for this procedure are in the Gasmaster manual. Following this procedure enables you to check if a sensor head is reading properly and perform adjustments to it by adding a zero-point or span offset. This
feature allows you to spot-check your equipment to ensure it's performing correctly and when performed regularly will let you know when it's time to get a new sensor or send in your current one to the factory for a check-up.

Show the Benefit of Your Cleaning or Remediation Services with a Handheld Odor Meter

Our popular handheld odor meters, are one of the most misunderstood products we sell. We receive many calls from clients asking if the odor meter can help them track down everything from pet urine to marijuana smoke. We also get many calls asking if the odor meter can identify particular smells. None of these applications is the intended use for our handheld odor meter.

An odor meter empirically measures odor intensity. It works best when used to create baseline comparisons between several measurements.

Example 1: You own a lavatory cleaning service. Using the odor meter you can take before and after measurements of the rooms you clean to show the effectiveness of your services. The odor meter gives an impartial before and after reading that's not subjective, unlike a human nose.

Example 2: You own a produce company that moves a great deal of produce through its warehouse everyday. You can use a handheld odor meter to take readings periodically throughout the day. On day 1 it won't tell you much, but over time you establish a baseline average for odor intensity created by the produce. After a week you can use the readings to pinpoint a problem, for example, those onions you just brought in are starting to go bad. The outgassing caused by the bad onions would be picked up the odor meter letting you know something is wrong with some of your produce.

Understanding exactly what the meter is capable of will help you make the right decision if a handheld odor meter can benefit your business. For more information we recommend you read the FAQ on our website.
