High Quality, High Performance, Compact Size LDV System

We'll be showing our new LDV system at the upcoming American Physical Society Annual meeting in San Fransisco later this month.

The LDV uses two laser beams from the transceiver probe to detect velocity. The smart LDV System is easy to use and the best device for precision PIV calibration and high spatial resolution measurements of middle or low velocity flows.

Applications Include: Air flow investigations in wind tunnels, fans, engines (intake, exhaust) and Liquid flow investigations in water channels, water jets
Kanomax Calibration Manager: Pete Serino
Calibration Particle Generator
Kanomax is pleased to announce that Peter Serino had joined Kanomax NJ as the technical service manager. Mr. Serino  has an extensive background in instrument repair and calibration. His focus is to continue to raise the level of support to our customers within the service department.

Schedule your year end calibration now to get you equipment calibrated during the holiday slow down.

This month we have feature on our high temperature anemometer including a link to a new application note, an article on our ASHRAE 110 Fume Hood Testing Kit and an application note on gas monitoring.

As always, if you have any questions or feedback on our products or the newsletter please let us know. Our contact details are located at the bottom of the newsletter.
Product Spotlight: High Temperature Anemometer
Providing a solution to high temperature air flow testing

6162 Kanomax manufactures the model 6162 high temperature anemometer that can be used to measure airflow in the applications mentioned above. The instrument comes with a number of features and benefits that can solve the problem of measuring air flow in a high temperature environment.

The main applications for high temperature air flow monitoring are:
  •  Drying Process Control
  •  Forming Process Control
  •  Exhaust Air Measurement
  •  Device Performance Testing
The 6162 can use any of three optional probes, which are all field-swappable without the need to re-calibrate the instrument. The compact model 0203 mid-temperature probe is perfect for applications ranging from 32 to 392°F 90 to 200°C). Model 0204 and the shorter model 0205 are designed for high temperature applications and are rated from 32 to 932°F (0 to 500°C).

If you would like more details on these applications and the capabilities of the 6162 you can read the full 6162 application note on our website.
ASHRAE 110 Test Kif
Fume Hood Diagnostic Testing

Manikin A fume hood is a local ventilation device designed to eliminate or minimize exposure to hazardous fumes, dust or other airborne particulates. Basically, the fume hood provides an area where a technician can safely work with certain hazardous materials. The fume hood is designed to contain and vent all dangerous vapors and particulates away from the worker. A typical fume hood will undergo quality testing by the manufacturer, but it is also necessary to test the fume hood in its installed state and to periodically make sure the hood is performing correctly to limit human exposure to airborne hazards. ASHRAE 110-1995 is the current industry accepted standard for this testing procedure.

Kanomax provides all the components for tracer gas testing except the actual tracer gas itself. Our dif-kit is made of durable and reliable stainless steel components to the specifications of drawing 110-83M. Our test-manikin includes an adjustable stand so you can easily position it at the correct height for the ASHRAE 110 test. We also offer a vapor analyzer calibrated to detect SF6. We have a detailed application note on our website that summarizes the different parts of the ASHRAE 110 test and explains our solutions.

Ozone Monitoring with the Gasmaster
Handheld Gas Monitors Useful for Ozone Monitoring and Many Other Gases

Ozone can be used to sterilize equipment and to significantly reduce or eliminate the spread of micro-organisms in hospitals. High levels of Ozone are required so people cannot be present. An ozone monitor with data-logging is a useful tool during treatments to document that the concentration has reached optimal levels for the appropriate time and then to check that it is safe for people to re-enter the room. Measurement can help optimize the effective dose, documents each room's sterilization and supports liability issues or complaints.

Ozone treatment of wastewater reduces the usage of energy, water, utilities and chemicals, and provides an effective alternative to traditional chemical treatments and older technologies. Pharmaceutical wastewater containing from 0.5% up to 10% formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde can be treated using ozone or ozone/peroxide/UV combinations. Up to 55% reductions in chemical oxygen demand (COD) levels are observed for solutions containing either formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde or a mixture of the two aldehydes when these solutions are treated using ozone or ozone/peroxide/UV combinations.

If you'd like to read more about Ozone monitoring we have two application notes available on our website Indoor Sterilization & Ozone Pharmaceutical
