March is a busy month for the Kanomax Team.  We have two tradeshows, Interphex and IAQA that we'll be attending and we're also busy preparing materials for our upcoming new product launches for our the enhanced version of our Capture Hood and upgraded Climomaster.

This month's newsletter features the upgrade to the Climomaster and also has a feature spotlight for the AES-1000 particle sensor explaining the specific applications the unit is designed for.

If you have any questions or need some help with an application please call or email any time.  You can also follow us on Twitter for the latest Kanomax news.
New Climomaster Upgrade is Coming!
Automatic On-board Pressure Compensation Feature

We're pleased to announce the addition of an on-board pressure compensation sensor to the Climomaster. Prior to this it was necessary to account for atmospheric pressure using formulas which meant a bit of extra work and introduced a chance for human error compromising measurement results. With the addition on the on-board pressure sensor the Climomaster now has the ability to do the math for you eliminating the extra work and the chance of human error. The instrument can be setup to automatically detect atmospheric pressure.

With it's impressive 2% accuracy reading for air velocity the Climomaster was already the most accurate thermal anemometer in the world. The addition of an on on-board atmospheric pressure sensor has made it an even more accurate and reliable instrument. Other features that make the Climomaster the top pick for nearly any application include:

  • 8 interchangeable probes
  • Automatic flow rate calculation function
  • Storage for up to 20,000 measurements
  • Simultaneously measurements of air velocity, air temperature, relative humidity, and airflow rate.

Check out our website for specifications or give us a call if you need a hand with your specific application.

Simplified Particle Monitoring with the Stand-Alone AES-1000
Ethernet-Compatible Particle Counting Without the Pump

This month we'd like to highlight a new specialized type of particle monitor that fills a unique niche.  The AES-1000 from Kanomax is a simplified particle monitor with an innovative design that eliminates the need for a vacuum pump.  A Resistor inside the particle counter heats the air creating an updraft that draws particles into the path of the LED.  The particles are then detected by the Light Receptor which in turn sends an indication of how many particles were detected to the visual display.  This provides stable and sensitive detection for Particulates of 0.5 microns and larger. Easy-to-read air cleanliness level, equivalent of ISO5 / Class 100 - ISO8 / Class 100,000.  You can click the small diagram below to view a full-size version of it..

This instrument is ideally suited for applications where fixed simplified monitoring is desired but a full cleanroom monitoring system is not needed or may be cost prohibitive.  Areas just outside a cleanroom, such as a gowning area or other entry or egress point, are good places for these monitors.  They can also be used inside the cleanroom at a work station or high-risk area to give an easy-to-read air cleanliness level, equivalent to ISO5 - ISO8.

The AES-1000 can be programmed with an alarm threshold that will trigger both a visual alarm and output an alarm signal via Ethernet in the threshold is reached.  Multiple instruments can be connected to an existing Ethernet network so multiple locations can be monitored simultaneously from a remote location.  The units are low-cost, compact and light with a design that makes them very easy to install.  It's a great solution for applications or areas that need to be mindful of particulates but don't require expensive full cleanroom-level monitoring.
