Vehicle Cabin Leakage Tester
Cabin Comfort Test Rig

Leakage testing is performed by pressurizing or depressurizing the vehicle cabin. The tester measures the changes in cabin pressure. The control unit consists of a manometer and pressure transducers. The manometer detects the leakage flow, which is calculated by measuring the nozzle pressure relative to static pressure. The tester controls an adjustable fan to maintain static test pressure. Five selectable inlet nozzles provide reasonable leakage flow rate measurements of 2.5 to 800 cfm.

Kanomax is please to announce our new aerosol monitor that can be integrated into existing Ethernet networks.  This monitor has a color-coded display that makes it easy to read at a glance.  It can also be configured to alert the user remotely if the particles exceed a custom-set threshold.  This instrument is ideal for high-traffic areas such as the gowning area before an actual cleanroom. The included PC monitoring software can monitor up to 10 sensors.

Efficient, Cost-effective TAB with Kanomax's Capture Hood

6710 Capture Hood Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (or TAB), is a process that's used to measure and adjust the effectiveness of indoor air systems such as air conditioning and heating. By following the TAB procedure a contractor or technician can maximize the comfort of a building's residents or workers as well as the efficiency and life of HVAC equipment.

The amount of testing, adjusting and balancing a particular building needs may vary based on the equipment and complexity of the HVAC system, but there are some general guidelines that can help a contractor or technician determine if TAB is necessary.  The full guide on our website lists these guidelines.

The testing, adjusting and balancing process is important for several reasons. It ensures that HVAC equipment is performing according to specification. It reduces costs by ensuring that heating and cooling are being performed efficiently, which in turn extends equipment lifetime. It can help a building comply with local energy conservation requirements. It also ensures the building's occupants stay comfortable which can increase worker productivity in a work environment.

Aerosol Research Conference Highlights Kanomax's Advanced Capabilities

 AAAR is a highly specialized show and seminar for aerosol research.  Kanomax has exhibited at the show for over 5 years now, and is proud to be able to contribute our knowledge and instruments to this community.  This year the show is in Portland Oregon starting Sept. 30.  Here are highlights of some of the products we'll have on display.

APM-3601 (Aerosol Particle Mass Analyzer) The APM classifies particles by mass based on entirely new classification principles.  Traditional DMAs classify particles using electrostatic force.  The APM combines this with centrifugal force to isolate particles that have a specific mass-to-charge ratio. The Particle density distribution can be attained by combining the APM and DMA.

Nanosampler Fiber filters utilize several mechanisms for aerosol collection such as inertial, gravitational setting, interception, and diffusion. Each  collection efficiency depends on particle size and filtration velocity. Large particles are collected in a filter by inertial impaction at a high filtration velocity while small particles are removed from the air by Brownian diffusion. The nanosampler controls its diffusion collection increasing filtration velocity, and collecting particles only by inertia.

PAMS PAMS is an electrical mobility size
spectrometer designed for portable, mobile, or handheld aerosol sampling applications. It provides the number-weighted diameter distribution of aerosols over the entire submicrometer range (10 to 863nm) in one scan. The unit uses a nonradioactive bipolar aerosol charger to allow easy access to sampling sites with tight safety regulations. Its bipolar charger significantly reduces measurement uncertainty of larger particles in the submicrometer range.

In today's global community everyone is trying to save money, be competitive and still do the right thing by mitigating their impact on the environment.  Sometimes it feels like these things may not be compatible with each other and we struggle with limited budgets, resources and in some cases information.  Education in the form of certification courses or seminars can be a great help for those that may be struggling with how to implement effective  IAQ/IEQ plans. 

They can also prevent costly mistakes that many people don't even realize they're making; for example: Energy efficient buildings are very desirable because they're greener and save money because they heat and cool more efficiently.  One way to make a building more efficient is to make it 'tighter' which reduces the amount of outside air that can enter the building.  However, this will also increase the amount of CO2 inside the building and could have a negative impact on the occupants' health.  By attending a certification course you can avoid common pitfalls and ensure you're really implementing the best practices.

Such courses are also an excellent way to learn about different instruments and tools that can be used to monitor air quality and make the job of managing a green building easier.
