ANNUAL CALIBRATION ACTUALLY SAVES TIME AND MONEY
Most of the time when a customer is buying a product with NIST traceable calibration they are doing so to comply with regulations. Those same regulations often dictate how often the instrument needs to be calibrated, but what if you're in an industry that isn't regulated by the government or outside agency? Should you still calibrate your instrument annually? The answer is yes. Regular calibration is the only way to ensure an instrument is still measuring accurately. Over time parts wear from daily use, particulates accumulate on sensitive parts and electronic sensors can experience drift. While not desirable, these are a normal part of instrument "aging". Calibrating the instrument annually minimizes the impact of these factors.
If your instrument stops measuring accurately you may not realize something is wrong immediately, but it could still be costing you money. For example, the instrument reports velocity as slower then actual. As a result the HVAC system increases fan speed to compensate. This is a greater drain on electrical power and over a long period of time could effect the life of the equipment. In the long-term the cost of annual calibration is much less than the cost of wasted power and potential damage to equipment.
As an incentive to keep your instruments calibrated Kanomax is offering a 20% off end-of-year discount. Just mention promo code 20OFFCAL on you PO when you send in your unit for calibration. Cannot be combined with any other special offers or promotions.

ASHRAE 110 TESTING DIFFUSER KIT IMPROVEMENTS
Our ASHRAE 100 Fume Hood Testing kit has received a materials upgrade. All the fittings are now made out of stainless steel that will not corrode or degrade over time. While the previous materials were sufficient for the kit and did not impact its effectiveness at all we wanted to offer something more robust for contract certifiers who were transporting the kit around to various testing sites.
This improvement is offered as part of our ongoing product improvements and we will not be raising the price of the kit. If you're interested in seeing the changes first-hand we'll be showcasing the improvements at AHR in January.
