Small Business Too Big To Ignore Campaign

The Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and the Kawartha Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), are launching Small Business Too Big To Ignore, a six month campaign that will highlight the important contributions of small businesses to our communities and investigate the top barriers to small business growth. Coinciding with the launch of this campaign, the OCC also released its report, Top 3 Obstacles to Small Business Success, aimed at starting a conversation about the underlying challenges that are weighing on small businesses and stifling job creation.

Do you want to be part of the consultations process?  Let Sandra know! [email protected]

FortMcMurryChamber Relief Fund to Support Fort McMurray and Area Business Community

The Alberta Chamber of Commerce (ACC) will be reviving the Chamber Relief Trust Fund to support the business community affected by the wildfires in the Wood Buffalo Region. The Chamber Relief Fund was first utilized to support the business communities affected by the 2013 floods in Southern Alberta.

We are anticipating the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce will require assistance going forward to remain stable and provide much needed support to the local business community. Money collected through this fund will go directly to the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce to ensure that local jobs and the economy can be revived as quickly as possible.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce will be making a donation to this relief fund and we would encourage all members of the Network to consider doing the same.

The ACC will be collecting donations directly and will hold those donations in trust. Learn more about how you can make your donation by clicking the link below.

HealthandsafetyThe Health And Safety Checklist - A New Resource For Small Businesses

Business owners know that a commitment to health and safety makes good business sense. To help small businesses, the Ministry of Labour has created the Health and Safety Checklist. This new resource helps serve as a starting point for understanding rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
