Dear Members of the Social Service Auxiliary,
We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Spiritus Ball honoring
R-lene Mijares de Lang (Mrs. Gordan de Lang) on Saturday, April 18. It promises to be a wonderful evening and we hope you are all planning to be there to help celebrate R-lene!
Here is a short introduction of R-lene from the Social Service Auxiliary Spring Newsletter:
The Social Service Auxiliary is very proud to
be presenting the 2015 Spiritus Ball Award to
R-lene Mijares De Lang, a woman committed to serving her family, church and community. She is often found at her family-owned Mijares Restaurant where she likes watching families come together. She loves serving youth through work with the Sisters of Social Service, Good Shepherd Shelter and Villa Espenoza. She is involved in many charitable endeavors.
Details for the Evening
Please remember the auction and cocktails will begin at 6:30 p.m. Come and peruse the many beautiful items, exciting trips and family outings, and other objects available for bidding that have been donated by our patrons, vendors and guests. Please see below for Safari details!

SSS Prayer Requests
As Sisters of Social Service our life is a balance of prayer and work. Deeply rooted in our Benedictine Spirit we join with people throughout the world asking God to answer prayer. In daily prayer, in our book of remembrances, at prayer in our Villa Senior Sister's Chapel, at Eucharist and in quiet times throughout the day, we join your request with our Community prayer. God has supplied each person with many tools, but no tool is more important than the ability to approach him in prayer. Prayer is essential in life and a limit to prayer does not exist. The Sisters of Social Service accept Prayer requests on the home page of our website www.sistersofsocialservice.com by clicking the prayer request button or by calling (818) 285-3376. Thank you for thinking of us in your time of need. You and your loved ones will be in our prayers. 'And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.' -Mt. 21:22 Mass remembrances are also available on the first Sunday of the month. Please let us know if you would like to honor or remember a loved one. |
