Community pavement condition reports available on NOACA website

As part of its Transportation Asset Management Program, NOACA prepared pavement condition reports for Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties and 90 communities within the five-county area. These reports contain pavement condition ratings for federal-aid roadways not maintained by ODOT, where NOACA typically commits its Surface Transportation Program funding allocations. The reports summarize pavement conditions and provide a cost estimate for bringing the roads into a state of good repair. Check out the pavement report for your community and see where road repairs are recommended.

Take a survey; attend an open house focused on the region's transportation needs

Do you rely on public or private transportation to get to work, school, medical appointments and shopping? If you do, please take NOACA's online

transportation survey. Survey results will help planners determine the region's most important and unmet transportation needs, and update Northeast Ohio's
Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan. The survey deadline is Friday, November 7. You can also take the transportation survey by calling NOACA Mobility Manager Jim Thompson at 216-241-2414, ext. 275.

NOACA invites the public to attend an open house on Thursday, November 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cleveland Public Library, Louis Stokes Wing, and take the transportation survey.

Take a survey concerning roadside assistance for bicyclists

The American Automobile Association (AAA) is gauging the need and interest for emergency roadside assistance for Ohio bicyclists. The organization asks bicyclists to register their experiences, needs and suggestions for roadside service by completing a brief survey. The deadline for taking the survey is Friday, October 31.

NOACA conducts road safety assessments, recommends low-cost improvements

NOACA partners with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and local safety officials to conduct road safety assessments at high-crash intersections around Northeast Ohio. The safety assessment team identifies hazardous conditions, including equipment malfunctions, obstructions to line of sight and other deficiencies, and recommends improvements, often low-cost, that can be implemented quickly. Project sponsors can apply to ODOT for safety funds to implement recommended remedial actions.

NOACA recently completed two road safety assessment reports that have been posted to the website:

Weigh in on proposed transportation improvements

NOACA welcomes public review and comment on all of its federally funded programs and projects. For the next two months, descriptions of 29 proposed road, safety, maintenance, traffic signal and transit projects from Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Lorain counties will be available on the website for public review and comment. At its January 9, 2015, meeting, the NOACA Board of Directors will consider adding these projects to the region's long-range transportation plan and getting them one step closer to receiving federal funding.
