NOACA changes committee structure and meeting schedules

NOACA's Board of Directors recently adopted changes to its governing document, the Code of Regulations, adding five new standing committees and two new advisory councils to the agency's committee structure. The Board of Directors also decided that the Board, standing committee, subcommittee and advisory council meetings will rotate on a quarterly schedule. In January 2014, the Board meets January 10 and the Transportation, Air Quality and Water Quality Subcommittees meet January 17. The Board of Directors' meeting agenda includes election of officers to serve during calendar year 2014.

Board Resource Guide explains agency's role and responsibilities

NOACA is northeast Ohio's metropolitan planning organization (MPO). What does this designation mean; what are the agency's primary responsibilities; and who can serve on the Board of Directors? NOACA produced a Board Resource Guide that addresses these questions and more. The guide:

  • Describes the work and responsibilities of the agency.
  • Defines the standing committees, subcommittees and advisory councils.
  • Describes federally required documents.
  • Lists Board of Directors officers and members.
  • Identifies agency initiatives.
  • Contains web links to agency programs and resources.

Several completed TLCI studies, which were prepared with the help of NOACA TLCI funding grants, have recently been posted on the agency's website. A TLCI task force is in the process of reviewing funding grant applications for fiscal year 2014, and expects to award this year's grants in January.
