to shopping centers, hospitals and medical facilities. NOACA works with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to help social service agencies acquire federal funding to purchase these special vehicles, which also have wheelchair lifts to assist people with disabilities. "The vehicles help older adults and the physically-challenged remain independent," said Grace Gallucci, NOACA executive director.

ODOT's Office of Transit recently announced the 2013 recipients of Specialized Transportation Program funding. Twelve northeast Ohio social service agencies and communities will receive funding for wheelchair-accessible vehicles. "NOACA is committed to helping all residents in our region find the transportation services they need," Gallucci added.

Share your ideas about future transportation priorities, strategies and improvements for the State of Ohio. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) seeks your feedback on Access Ohio 2040, the statewide long-range transportation plan. Everyone uses transportation facilities to get where they need to go. This is your opportunity to suggest ways to make transportation safer, more convenient and easier. Access Ohio 2040 will provide the framework for the state's transportation policies and investment strategies in the coming years.

Learn about Compressed Natural Gas for Your Organization's Vehicle Fleet

Compressed natural gas (CNG) is cheaper and cleaner-burning than gasoline, and is rapidly becoming a popular alternative fuel choice for businesses. If your organization is considering CNG for its vehicle fleet, attend a special forum on September 12, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Kimble Companies, 8500 Chamberlin Road in Twinsburg. The forum, presented by the Great Lakes Energy Development Task Force and the Earth Day Coalition's NEO Clean Cities CNG Stakeholders, will focus on developing and managing a CNG vehicle fleet. Learn about how this fuel choice can positively affect your business.
