Save the Date! Share Your Thoughts at Vibrant Ohio Workshops

NEOSCC postcard

We are excited to share the upcoming  dates for the Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium's (NEOSCC) Vibrant NEO 2040 Scenario Planning Workshops!  At these first workshops we will be learning about what northeast Ohio would look like in year 2040 if current trends continue and how that will affect you and future generations. The second part of the session will explore alternatives through map drawing and gaming. What are your most important issues and priorities?  What should be considered to make northeast Ohio more vibrant, resilient and sustainable? These conversations will be captured and used to propel the development of alternative scenarios.

Cleveland Studies Bike Sharing Potential

Wouldn't it be great to get to locations in Cleveland by simply hopping on a bicycle? Wouldn't it be even better if the bicycles you use are housed at convenient stations throughout the city, and ready to roll when you are? The City of Cleveland and the Bike Share Task Force are exploring the feasibility of implementing a bike sharing system. Subscribers to the system would be able to access bikes at self-serve kiosks, and could grab a bike 24/7 for immediate use. The city is holding a public meeting on bike sharing issues Wednesday, April 24, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Public Library's downtown branch, 325 Superior Avenue. In the meantime, share your thoughts about bike sharing by taking a brief survey.

Governing Board adds Projects to Long-Range Transportation Plan

At its March 8 meeting, the NOACA Governing Board voted to add 49 road, bridge, transit and bicycle projects to the region's long-range transportation plan. Twenty-three of these projects will also be added to the state fiscal years 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program. The long-range plan outlines the development of northeast Ohio's transportation system and identifies transportation investments that are planned through the year 2030. The TIP is the comprehensive, four-year listing of federal-aid transportation improvement projects scheduled for implementation in the NOACA region.
