Greetings!
Thank you for continuing to journey with us through the season of Advent. You are now journeying together with members of over 60 different congregations in multiple dioceses. As we come together in reflection and prayer, we join our voices in praise as we await the joyful coming.

Scripture
Remember your word to your servant,
in which you have made me hope.
This is my comfort in my distress,
that your promise gives me life.
Isaiah 119:49-50

In these troubled times, we look for hope to fill our hearts. We need look no further than God, who loved us so much as to live among us in our difficult world. This is the promise of Advent, that the light of Christ came, is, and is to come. The hope of God is that, even though this world will bring us both joy and pain, we are not alone in our distress, but God stands beside us to comfort us through it. God grieves with us, and the light of Christ warms our hearts as we unite with one another in the bond of love.

Prayer
Gracious God, who through the ages have weathered the storms
with us, comforted us in our times of trial,
and given us knowledge of the life that grows out of death,
be with us now as we prepare for the coming of Christ into our hearts. Grant that we, burning with that light may be a beacon of hope to others as we live out our call to be
the Body of Christ alive in the world today. Amen.
