Too much Halloween candy? Donate it to our Troops!
November 5th and 6th is your last chance to donate in the front office, we'll be collecting excess Halloween candy for Operation Gratitude (www.operationgratitude.com), who will pack the candy into holiday care packages for our soldiers.
Wrapped candy of any type can be donated. Simply place it in the donation boxes in the front office after Halloween. Please do not buy extra candy for this purpose; we will receive a ton of candy just from the excess. If you can, please separate chocolate and other candy that might melt from the hard/sugar candies as we will need to sort these before shipping. Corovan Moving and Storage is providing us with free shipping, so there is no cost to our school.
We would also love to collect pictures, drawings and letters for the troops. You can place these in the front office too. Letter writing guidelines are available from Operation Gratitude at http://www.operationgratitude.com/get-involved/write-letters/. Please encourage your children to participate!

Grocery Shopping Programs and what we can do to make them earn more $$$ for our school!
Last year Donlon families earned $8,500 towards Donlon through our grocery store programs. We are trying to ensure we maximize our ability to generate this steady flow of income and to grow it as much as possible! This money helps pay for a number of expenses that have no district budget to support them. As state funding becomes more challenging each year, programs like this are one of the easiest ways to begin to bridge that gap. Remember that encouraging friends and family to participate is a great way to put their purchasing power to work for our school as well!
