Broadway Performer Rick Lyon Visits W&J |
Today at 7:00 pm in the Olin Theatre!
The Department of Communication Arts, with assistance from NEH and the Student Life Office for Inclusive Campus Engagement, is pleased to welcome Broadway performer Rick Lyon to campus today from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Olin Theatre. Lyon played the roles of Trekkie Monster and Nicky in the original Tony winning play Avenue Q, and his skills as a performer and puppeteer have also been seen on Sesame Street, Men in Black, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
All are welcome!

Flu season is upon us! Please come to Health and Counseling Services today from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to receive your annual flu vaccine. They will be provided for students, faculty and staff. The fee this year is $20, cash or check only. Be Wise, Immunize!

The 1781 Pub Returns!
Friday from 9:00 pm - Midnight in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room
This Friday, the faculty dining room and commons patio will once again transform into a pub and beer garden! The 1781 Pub features a selection of premium beer (limit 3), pub snacks, and live entertainment.
This month's featured entertainment is DJ Big Ed! Tickets are on sale now for the presale price of $10 at the Rossin Information Desk (Tickets are $12 at the door). Must be 21 to enter with a valid ID.

Point of View Discussion: Cultural Appropriation
From culturally insensitive Halloween costumes, to distasteful college themed parties and athletic team mascot controversies, issues of cultural appropriation are prevalent in today's society. Come share your thoughts and perspectives at this month's Point of View Discussion. Free pizza and wings will be provided! Co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity Programs & Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Programming Board.

Sustainability Committee Work Study Available!
The W&J Sustainability Committee is hiring a new Media Technician. This work-study student will design posters for the Sustainability Committee using texts that will be supplied, hang the posters and move them from location to location to maximize their impact, maintain the Committee's web presence, and carry out other tasks. Experience designing posters and maintaining web pages is preferred but we will consider fast learners who are eager to develop new skills. Required traits include creativity, initiative, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to hang posters. The job is expected to require five to ten hours a week.
