DIY Series: Painting with a Twist |
This Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Alley (Hub LL)
What is Painting with a Twist? Step-by-step instruction with an experienced artist to leave with a one of a kind creation! Typically done in their studio, but for this special event, they will be coming to W&J!

Food Recovery Network Info Meeting
Today at 4:00 pm in the Ski Lodge
The Green Club is working with Parkhurst and the Washington City Mission to reduce W&J's food waste by donating it to help feed the local homeless. An informational meeting to learn more about this program will be held today at 4:00 pm for any interested students.

Habitat for Humanity Chapter's First Meeting
Today at 6:00 pm
Come to the Habitat for Humanity Chapter's First meeting tonight! Located in Old Main's Chapel, at 6:00 pm and learn how you can be a hand up, not a hand out. We will be having light snacks and discussing upcoming meetings and events- like the Dress Sale this weekend!

Gym Nights for W&J Students!
Need to smack a volleyball around? Need to drive to the hoop? Need a break from the books? The Church of the Covenant is here for you. C'mon over and raise your pulse a little. We'll have volleyball, basketball or just hang out. The time will be 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the following dates (all Mondays): October 5 & 19, November 2 & 16, December 7. Later on we'll also invite you over for Finals Feast....a donut indulgence just when you need a sugar surge the most....during finals! Stay tuned for that date to be announced later in the semester. Feel Good Friday

This week's Feel Good Friday event is sponsored by Student Health & Counseling Services. They will be celebrating World Smile Day and handing out smiley cookies along with some other refreshments! The intent of world smile day is to do an act of kindness or help a person to smile! Why not do both?!

Floor Hockey
Sign-ups for Intramural Floor Hockey close Friday, October 2 at 12:00 pm
Please submit entries to imsports@washjeff.edu. Teams must have a minimum 4 players (no minimum requirement of females). Sticks, goalie pads, and protective eyewear are provided by IM staff. Games are played in the Henry Memorial Back Gym from October 5-22.

Sign-ups for Intramural Volleyball close Friday, October 2 at 12:00 pm

Gaden Shartse Monastery
Closing Ceremony this Friday
The Gaden Shartse Monastery will be finishing up their week-long long residence on Friday with a closing ceremony at 3:15 pm in Olin. In the meantime, be sure to stop down to Olin to catch of the lectures the monks will be giving or to see the sand mandala they be making during the day.

Habitat for Humanity Dress Sale - 2 Day Event

Party, Evening, Prom, Bridal-- Looking for a homecoming, formal, or special occasion dress? There are over forty five dresses for sale, and all must go! Ranging in styles and sizes, but all under $250! All proceeds benefit Washington County's Habitat for Humanity.

College Access Youth Mentoring Program
Due October 5
Were you unsure about how to begin your college search? Apply for financial aid? Unsure if college was even for you? So many of our young community members have these same concerns! YOU can be the work to help them answer those questions. W&J is selecting several of our students to serve as mentors in the W&J College Access Program. Mentors will be partnered with one or two local high school students who are beginning their college search process, and will help them navigate the process through monthly meetings, workshops, and follow up. Mentors will commit to the program for the full year, and will receive a stipend for their participation. Apply through Spire here! Application deadline extended to October 5! Questions? Stop Hunger Now
Packing Event this Saturday!
Join us for the Stop Hunger Now packing event on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 9am - 1pm in the Chapel/Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church at the corner of College and E. Beau. A Meal-packaging event will take place at First United Methodist Church right across the street from the college through a mobile operation that delivers ingredients and supplies. During the event, volunteers work in teams at each packaging station. Volunteers set up and take down packaging stations and equipment, fill bins with raw ingredients, scoop ingredients into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, box and stack them on pallets, and load the pallets and equipment onto a truck. October Produce to People
Register Today!
The Greater Washington County Food Bank Produce to People food distribution is in need of volunteers on Tuesday, October 6 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Produce to People is the Food Bank's large-scale produce distribution program. Volunteers are needed to assist with anything from passing out the produce, to acting as runners and support. Volunteers can sign up for the full experience or for shorter shifts. Transportation is provided, and a shuttle leaves campus on the hour each hour and returns to campus on the half hour. Student volunteers are eligible to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant or store! To register to volunteer, fill out the form here. Please register by Monday, October 5 at 5:00 pm.

Houston Pumpkinfest Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed Saturday October 3rd to help to tie cornstalks for decorating the town and stage area, the evening of Thursday October 8th to help set up chairs and benches in the large pavilion area and Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 9, 10, 11 to help run timers for inflatable bouncers, take tickets, wash pumpkins, help children decorate pumpkins, and various other tasks.
