Volunteer Opportunities
College Access Youth Mentoring Program

Were you unsure about how to begin your college search? Apply for financial aid? Unsure if college was even for you? So many of our young community members have these same concerns! YOU can be the work to help them answer those questions. W&J is selecting several of our students to serve as mentors in the W&J College Access Program. Mentors will be partnered with one or two local high school students who are beginning their college search process, and will help them navigate the process through monthly meetings, workshops, and follow up. Mentors will commit to the program for the full year, and will receive a stipend for their participation. We will be holding information sessions for this opportunity on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 30, both at 5:30PM in Tech Center 118. Pre-registration is not required, but encouraged. Pre-register here. Questions? E-Mail volunteer@washjeff.edu.

Clothing Drive!

W&J has an awesome opportunity to support a great cause sponsored by Do Something and H&M. We are hosting a clothing drive from September 3rd until October 1st (all donations need to be in by September 30th though). Any unwanted, clean clothing in any condition will be accepted. The ultimate goal is to collect as close to 4,000 articles of clothing as possible (1 sock counts as 1 item too- so any socks that have a lost match are perfect for this clothing drive!)  In addition, if W&J donates more clothing than the other competing schools, dosomething.org will give us money towards an all campus party! Any support that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Clothes can be dropped off in the donation bins in Rossin next to the mail room, or a pick-up can be scheduled for larger donation amounts.

Feel free to email Alyssa Evanoff (evanoffar@jay.washjeff.edu) with any questions at all! The W&J community may be small, but if we all do our part we can make a big impact! Please consider donating and help spread the word!

Littles talk with their Bigs about class, do homework, read or do other fun activities together. At the end of the day, it's really all about starting a friendship, providing guidance and inspiring them to reach their potential.
