This year, NPMAC took 10 warriors to Festival. Master instructors taught us how to be invisible in the face of danger. We watched amazing demonstrations, participated in the intention setting ritual at the Fire ceremony, ate pizza and sang karaoke...and then trained some more.

Next year, our goal is to take even more of our students to this annual event (and bring home the plaque award for the last year!).

We had a mix this year of first-time Festival go'ers...and old pros. Here is a few word of feedback on the Ninja Festival Experience:

THOUSAND OAKS VOTED SAFEST CITY

Thousand Oaks was just voted the safest city in California (of cities with a population over 100,000). I am honored to live here and raise my family here.

 So, why, if we are so safe, do we need so many "fighting" martial arts schools? Why should we train in martial arts in Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village?

Do we still need to train for the number one reason of self-defense? Is being attacked in our outside our homes a number one concern in our city?

I'll let you ponder the above question for a moment, and tell you the reason students train at Newbury Park Martial Arts Center......to achieve Tatsujin.

Now, you can't buy "How to train for Tatsujin" in a weekend seminar for businesses; you can't say you teach it and not follow through; you can't substitute made up activities for the real deal. Tatsujin just is..........

KIDS ARE AWESOME

We have some of the best behaved, talented, authentic youth in all of the Conejo Valley. We want to salute Ian Adams for loving Dragons- and bringing his drawing in to share with the class.....check it out......

On other kid front.....we have new future dojo members that have joined the planet.....join us in welcoming Emily to Day and Veronica Dove; and Hunter to Steve and Margie Broadhead.(and we have installed a "Future Black Belt" section of the intention stick area...check it out below.....):

If you have a baby or toddler that is still too young for our Little Ninja Program (ages 3 and 4), don't fret! You can proudly state your intention at the dojo! Send us your cutie patootie's picture, and we will display it in our "Future Black Belt" intention stick photo area!!

We are looking forward to seeing many pictures on our new intention stick area.

Sand Snowman

Sand Snowman is an original short film written and directed by NPMAC member Yeva-Genevieve Lavlinski. Produced in conjunction with NPMAC owner Paul Hantoshi Molinsky for the Film Festival circuit. Sand Snowman delves into the relationships of parent and child and the triumphs and tragedies from the abundance or lack of unconditional love.

Sand Snowman flashes back to the turbulent times of the common person caught in the changing of the old Soviet regime and the anarchy of the "New Russians" and the effects today in the attitudes of untouchable politicians' sons.
