Thank You from Fr. Hilary

"To all of you who sponsor orphaned and less advantaged children in Uganda through COVE Alliance, and to all of you who selflessly volunteer in different ways, to all of you who quietly make special donations for our St. Jerome Campus improvement projects, I am writing to say, "Thank you very much." Special thanks to all of you who participated in the Seeds of Hope COVE Fundraising event on April 30th, 2016 at Royal Melbourne Country Club.
As you may realize, COVE Alliance is growing and making a difference. Congratulations to all of you who had sponsored children in Grade 7 last year (2015) at St. Jerome COVE Primary School. All 21 candidates who sat for their final National Primary Leaving Exams in November 2015 passed 100% with 9 students earning distinctions (passing in first grade) and 12 getting credits (passing in a second grade). Undoubtedly, this is motivating the two boards (Uganda and USA) and all our donors, friends and well-wishers.This year all together 180 children are sponsored, 139 children in Primary Schools, 36 in Secondary Schools and 5 students in tertiary and vocational schools. St. Jerome Primary School this year takes care of 217 children spread throughout all the 7 classes. The St. Jerome Health Clinic continues to serve the St. Jerome COVE Center community and the surrounding villages.
Thank you very much for making a difference in the lives of these young men and women. God bless you for your generosity now and forever."
Fr. Hilary Muheezangango

This year the Seeds of Hope annual dinner/silent auction was held at the Royal Melbourne Country Club in Long Grove, IL on April 30th. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner with choice of entree and were treated to a live jazz band, Ron Barron & Friends Jazz Sextet, throughout the evening. This celebration raised over $15,000 for COVE Alliance, thanks in large part to an anonymous donor who contributed $1,000 and challenged guests to match it. Not only did they match it, the challenge raised over $4,000!
Thank you to everyone that helped make the event a success - our generous donors, our great guests, and of course all our hard-working volunteers!
Congratulations to the Main Raffle Winners!
1st Prize: $1,500 VISA Prepaid Card - Valeri Werpetinski
2nd Prize: $750 Amazon.com Gift Card - Margaret Kuretich
3rd Prize: $250 cash - Cathy Reinhard

The final Primary school building (grades 6/7) has been completed and was dedicated this past December.
Recent additions to the curriculum include
debating classes as well as Arts & Crafts.
Our partnership with Vernon Hills High School continues and this past March, the VHHS student council held a fundraising event during all 3rd period classes. For one week they had a class change competition, in which each class had a jar to donate their coins and see which class could raise the most money. It was decided that funds raised will go toward supplies for the new Primary 6/7 building. They're all winners - combined they raised $1,775.97! Thank You!!

We are always looking for volunteers!
Special skills are not required - just a willingness to help the children of Uganda! We are in special need of volunteers interested in Communications media, chairing our Fundraising committee, Grant writing, or getting involved in Outreach.
