'Tis the Season!
Help Spread Holiday Cheer to Uganda!
Hopefully, by now many of you have received our annual appeal letter. This holiday season, we ask all of you to share your good fortune with those less fortunate - the children of Kapeeka, Uganda.
We will not be sending a separate appeal asking for donations for the children's Christmas party and gifts as we have in past years. Your generous annual appeal contribution will not only provide COVE Uganda with much needed funds to continue their operation, but a portion of your donation will also be used to provide Christmas gifts and a holiday party for the children.
Donations can be made using the remittance envelope enclosed in the letter that you received or you can send a check to
COVE Alliance, P.O. Box 1051, Libertyville, IL 60048. You can also make a secure donation online using a credit card via PayPal (no account required) by clicking the Donate button on the right.
Thank You For Your Support!
Wishing You & Your Families a Wonderful Holiday Season!

| Graduations
Warm greetings to our new graduates, who have passed the required testing to work in hair dressing and cosmetology.

Josephine Leokadia Miria
Another graduate, Rose, is not pictured above. There will be a ceremony to celebrate their achievements on November 21st at St. Mary's Vocational School in Kasaala, Uganda. "It is an honor to share this important moment in the life of your sponsored child," says Joseph (On-site Administrator) and Harriet (Head of Sponsorship). Graduation from vocational school is certainly a great achievement! The future is bright and will be filled with goals, challenges, and opportunities! Anything is possible when you believe in yourself.
Grant Application Underway
The St. Jerome COVE Center is in the process of completing a grant application for $20,000 to support and improve maternal and child health services. The COVE Center's desire to expand its maternal and child health programming stems from a desire to encourage the community to support reproductive health rights and increased male involvement in parenting. The COVE Center also hopes to study the effectiveness of these approaches in reducing maternal mortality and morbidity.
Guest House Completed
The guest house was completed at the end of the summer and is planned to be a source of revenue for the St. Jerome COVE Center. The revenue will come from visiting delegates, military conferences, and the families of COVE students, patients, and staff. The hope is that the Guest House will eventually fund itself and profits will go toward COVE expansion and sustainability.

The Impact of COVE Delegates
Words of thanks from the COVE Uganda staff...
"We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know our visitors. When we hear that delegates are coming to the St. Jerome COVE Center we begin to prepare a warm reception. looking at all aspects of our community to help them feel at home. That includes the culture, language, environment, and the food they will eat. The staff wishes to help them by introducing them to new things, as well as learning from them.
Staff members find the visiting delegates helpful and inspiring in many aspects of living. They are passionate, caring, and committed people, working tirelessly and sacrificing what they have to bring a change in our community. Along with the delegates comes the exchange of new ideas, teamwork, open-mindedness, and sharing. We value their help with the completion of a number of tasks during their stay, such as community health outreach, on-site activities like immunizations, visits to COVE's classrooms and COVE's families, and educating children about life skills. The children truly enjoy being a part of small reading groups. The delegates motivate us and even bless us with gifts."

Bishop Paul, of the Luweero diocese in Uganda, visited the US in late September. He traveled to many parts of the country communicating and collaborating with other Ugandan priests who are aligned with various parishes. One of his stops was a visit with the COVE Board to reconnect with the many delegates he has hosted in Uganda. He has always had a generous and happy place in his heart for the COVE mission and he made assurances that he will continue to support COVE's efforts.
