COVE Updates

The Dormitory was completed in the Spring (2013) and the girls moved in in June. Funding for the water tanks has been successful and construction will begin soon. As you may recall, there was a shortage of water during the drought last fall. This addition of  2 water tanks will be a great assistance.

Vernon Hills HS at St. Jerome COVE Center

This summer, Dr. Ellen Cwick, along with staff and students of VHHS, visited the St. Jerome COVE Center. This is a tribute to their continued partnership with COVE Alliance.

During their stay at the COVE campus, they worked hard painting the new dormitory, visiting village schools, and the homes and families of the sponsored children. They also conducted a workshop for both the COVE elementary teachers and teachers from the neighboring schools.

They also presented clothes, school supplies, and other things that the children could use. The clothes came from the tailoring class at Vernon Hills High School and St. Theresa School in Palatine, IL.

COUGARS will " RUN FOR THE COVE." The COVE Alliance, that is.  The community is invited to join VHHS students and staff as they participate in the 5th annual Cougar Community 5K Classic and 1 Mile Walk.

Come on out to the Rust-Oleum Football Stadium on Sunday, October 6th where the 5K will start at 9:00 am and the 1 Mile Walk shortly after.

The Health and Wellness Committee is proud to be donating the race proceeds to the COVE Alliance.

Students that form a team of 10 or more and have a faculty sponsor with them get a reduced race fee of $10 down from $15.
